Oh MY Goodness......

It has been forever since I have blogged and I feel so embarassed... I started a full time job and some very active twins have kept me from really being able to blog... I have not stopped knitting but it seems like the projects take a little longer to finish. I just finished a baby cardi and of course, pressed for time I gifted the cardi with out a pic... The recipient promised that she will be taking a pic in motion..

I hope to start blogging and sending pictures...LOL

4th of July Family Reunion

Over 4th of July Weekend, we had a nice Family Reunion with my dad's side of the family. It was very nice to visit with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins.

(Left to Right) My Dad, Me, Uncle Bill, My Sister Anika, My cousin Jessica, Aunt Sandy, and my cousin Kenny. We all have not been in one place for over 15 years. It was nice to catch up and reminise about the younger years... My cousin Jessica was 5 the last time I seen her... Boy has she grown into a wonderful women.. Her Brother Christopher couldn't make it in town this time but definitely will be here next time...

We had such blast!!!! It is so funny how the gene pool works...

My Summer Market BAG!!!!

This Summer Market Bag came in handy for the trips to the pool and camping... I love it!!!! I made it extra long so I could put quite a few towels and other stuff in there. I sewn fabric handles on there to give sturdier strap since bag came out so big. The Bag is made out of KnitPicks Cotlin... I love the colors!!! I have been trying to get away from the PINKS... I see more of these bags in my future...

I can't believe that Summer is over though... I think I will repurpose this bag for going to the Farmer's Market on the weekends...

Shalom Cardigan

I knitted the Shalom Cardigan with Bernat Softee & Chunky in the black. I still have not found a button that has really caught my eye but the perfect weather is coming to wear and I cannot wait.

This was a very quick knit (5 days) and I really wouldn't mind knitting up another one in a different color. On Ravelry, they have many different variations of how it is knitted up.

I just seen one the other day that was knitted with a cable piece... It was really pretty... I have been looking for another cardi to knit up for the Fall as well... I just have not found anything that has struck my eye at the moment.... Ü
I have envisioned some lovely hats and sweaters in the months ahead... I am hoping I can knit some up...

I know it has been ages but I wanted to share a couple of projects that I have finished in the last couple of months that I haven't been able to post.

I found the Bernat Glow in the Dark yarn at Michael's and I bought 4 skeins of the Worm White. I know the picture is not at all perfect but it does really glow bright. The glow does not stay as long as I hoped but the boys LOVE it!!!

Of course, since I have twin boys that I have to make 2 hats. I am finishing up on the 2nd hat as we speak... I am still on the first skein. So, I don't know what I will be doing with the other 3 skeins. I will find something to play around with it...

Today, is officially FALL!!!! I cannot believe that we are already in the fall season... I get happy though when the leaves start changing because it just pumps me up for the KNITTING season.. I can play with any YARN out there at this time of year... Wool is horrendous in the Summer...hehe

Oh My Goodness, The Brighton is Done!!!

The Brighton Bag is done.. I finished it the end of May... I will have to say that it was worth all the blood sweat and tears that I went through to use it on a daily basis... I absolutely LOVE this bag!!!!! It is BIG and spacious and I could not be happier... My wrist is thanking me that I am done with this project.

It took me about 2 months to finish this bag because of the pattern stitch... I could only do about 2 repeats before my wrist was hurting...

I started on the Everlasting Bagstopper and will be done with that bag shortly... I will definitely be using this bag for the summer months to hold sunscreen and pool stuff...

My boys are out of school and they are about to start summer school... We have Open House tonight!!! They are so ready for summer.. The weather in the Midwest has been exceptionally weird for the past couple of months... Right now we are dealing with LOTS of Rain and Thunderstorms... It is Tornado season!!!! You are always on guard... We have had Tornado's hit when it was nice and sunny outside with no looks of rain in the forecast. Missouri has such weird weather... Right now, it is HOT, HOT, HOT and Humid.. It is suppose to be 92 today... But it looks like it is going to rain....

We have been so busy with our store and racing for the past month and a half that I haven't had much time to relax...

My Hubby had Lasik done a little over 2 weeks ago... I bought 2 NEW EYES!!! (At least that is how it felt when I seen how much I was paying) We opted to go with the Lifetime plan (Custom Lasik) where we would not have to pay again for any future enhancements!!!! The first day was a pain in the behind!!!! He could not fall asleep after the surgery... I tried everything besides a tranquilizer to make him fall asleep... It took about 6 hours for the pain to finally subside and he could open his eyes... The first time I could pry his eyes open to put his antibiotics in, his eyes were bleeding... (TALK ABOUT SCARING THE CRAP OUT OF YOU) When putting the suction on his eye to cut the lense, his blood vessels broke... He still has an eye that is blood shot a little.

The Next morning, he felt like a million bucks... He woke up about 4:30am. ( I guess to look at himself in the mirror for a couple of hours...hehe) It has been so cute lately because every second he has, he is outside looking at trees (the leaves on the trees)... He has worn glasses since he was in 3rd grade... Every night he looks at me with a smile on his face and says, "I just feel like I need to go take my contacts out." LOL!!!!

Last night, we were going to bed and I seen him grab for his glasses on his face to put them on the night stand.... ROFL!!!! I asked him, " Did you just try to take your glasses off? LOL" He told me every night he does it out of habit...

I asked him what he wanted me to do with his prescription glasses and sunglasses and he told me to keep them.... ( I don't know what for since his eyes are at 20/25) The day after surgery he got to buy his first pair of cheap sunglasses... I am so happy for him!!! I have been begging him to do this for the past 5 years... If it wasn't for me, he probably would have backed out at the last minute again...

Sorry this has been a long post. I know it has been forever since I have blogged and I guess I am trying to make up for it.... My Bagstopper will be up soon...

Knitty Pattern Update!!!

I started on the Knitty RPM socks last night while watching Men in Trees and Criminal Minds... I stopped watching American Idol since Michael John got voted off... What a rip off!!

I did one pattern repeat and I am liking how it is turning out. I am hoping that the Perchance to Knit Black Rainbow is the right combo... I wanted to find a pattern that hasn't been done in this yarn and show how pretty the colors blend together... The Yarn base is like "Butter"... I absolutely love how it rolls through my fingers...hehe She is pure Genius because the colors are vibrant and absolutely LOVELY!!! I cannot wait to put these on my tootsies...LOL
On the other hand I have made a little progress knitting on the Knitty Brighton. The yarn is KnitPicks Cotlin in the Linen. I am almost finished with the first ball. I will say that it is slow going since the K3TOG's are killing my wrist. I have been trying successfully to knit at least 1 pattern repeat. I have to have 13 and 1/2 inches before I am done and I have around 6 inches.... I am definitely going to block this purse...

I haven't picked out what fabric I want to use for the liner yet but I want to be almost done before picking out my selection. It is going to be my summer bag. I think I might sew in a water bottle holder in the material. I am hoping it is big enough that I can fit quite a bit in when we go to the pool... I hope I will have some more progress on both of these projects very soon...

Hubby has been out of town and believe it or not my house is clean, laundry is done, supper has been on the table, business is running smoothly, and I have been able to get some knitting done... Woohoo... The boys on the other hand are missing daddy and counting down the days on when he will return... I don't tell hubby but I am missing him too... My puppy has been my sleeping partner which has helped... We have a lot planned for this weekend to keep the boys occupied...

Oh, I ttotally forgot to post a pic of my pink punk yummee yarn socks that I finished a little while ago... I absolutely LOVE them.. So SOFT!!! I did the afterthought heel so it wouldn't mess with the striping... I really do love these socks.. I think I have to say that these are my favorite by far out of all the socks that I have knitted... I love them!!!!

It has been awhile...woohoo.. I am so thankful Tax Season is officially over for this household... Our county was given an extension for the Flooding that our town and surrounding towns endured... Mine went in on time and that is all that counts... I am glad it is over...

Even though I have not been much of a blogger lately I have been knitting and reading... I finished my Lace Bolero and I fell in love... I wish I had a better picture but it is hard to take your own picture in the mirror. I bought me a nice little summer dress just for this bolero... I might make me a couple more of these in some other colors...

I started some Knitty RPM in the Perchance to Knit Black Rainbow... I am hoping that this pattern will give it justice. If not, I think I might just do a stockinette... I have never seen any RPM's made with it so I think it is a gamble.. But, I am willing to take the chance.

I am knitting on the Knitty Brighton and I have close to about 6 inches... The K3TOG's hurt my wrist and so I cannot work on it for a long period of time...

I am hoping I can get some pics to show you my progress...

We are going to have some wonderful weather... I cannot wait!!!!

Not much has been going on here... The snow has stopped in the area but the rain has taken its spot. There are many cities and counties that are flooded or on the breaking point. Some places have had 6-7 inches of rain the past 2 days... Can you believe that!!!! It has finally stopped for the time being. I think it will be raining this weekend for Easter also.

I was playing with some stitch patterns the other day and made this baby ribbed hat. I don't like the decreases that I picked and so I will be trying out some others to see if it looks ok.

I have also been knitting on my second Pink Punk sock. I have about 3 1/2 inches on the leg... I bought some KnitPicks Cotlin the other day and started on the Ribbed Lace Bolero in a Hot Pink. I really like the Knitty 2008 Brighton bag and bought some Cotlin for that. I bought some Lime Green to do the Everlasting Bagstopper also. I want an easy bag for the summer months.

Plumpy and I are PROUD owners of Perchance to Knit Black Rainbow. It is being shipped today and we cannot wait to get our hands on this sock yarn.. We have been drooling over this colorway for awhile now and we can't wait to knit up some socks with it. I know Plumpy already has a pattern for hers but I haven't decided yet...

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday!!! My boys start Spring Break tomorrow and don't go back until Tuesday. They don't get a full week like the other schools around us. The teachers were kind enough to take 2 conference days that they were suppose to be off to work so we will not have to make up snow days... I am so happy because no one wants to go to school after Memorial Day...

I am so ready for Summer to be here!!! Ü

GO AWAY SNOW!!!! WE DON'T WANT YOU ANYMORE!!!!!

Ms. Mother Nature can you PLEASE give us a BREAK!!!!! I have really seriously thought about moving my family this past month... This past weekend we had some beautiful weather. Saturday, it was in the hight 60's and then Sunday it was 80 degrees. Monday we had a Wintry Mix with Rain, Freezing Rain, and Sleet. This Morning at 6am it started with SNOW, SNOW, and MORE SNOW!!!! It is after 6pm and it is finally dying down. We have close to 8 inches on the ground... What a Crock!!!!! Of Course, the boy had a DAY OFF and this is what they did. The sleds were not utilize as much as the 4-wheelers...LOL!!!!

I finished my first Pink Punk Sock and starting on the 2nd sock!!!!! I did the Afterthought Heel. I did not want the sock to lose its look of the stripes... I think these are my favorite socks of the moment I have knitted.... I knited the Leg longer than I usually do but I do like the length of this sock... I think that these colors look perfect together... I cannot wait to wear the pair.

I guess the only advantage of this crappy weather is I get to finish up on some knitting... Please keep us in your thoughts... Not only do we all have kids that are even sick the snow days but now they will be going longer into the summer for school... WONDERFUL!!!!!

It is has been so busy around this place... I have had one of my sons with a middle ear infection and then his ear drum rupture. My baby cash decides he is going to be deathly sick. We had to take him in to the Emergency Animal Hospital. We still do not know what happen but he seems like he is doing better. I have finally got some food and water down him but he looks like he has lost about 5lbs in the past couple of day... POOR BABY!!!! He had 2 seizure yesterday and I had to take him back in...

This SNOW, ICE, SLEET, and RAIN has GOT to STOP!!!!! I am so depressed and would like for summer to come any day now... Being stuck in the house and no school for the boys for the past couple of weeks has been torture!!!!! I have been knitting and reading but I would like to soak up the sun some time soon...
I have been knitting a stockinette sock in YummeeYarn and the stripes are coming out really cute.. I didn't want a weird break in the stripes and so I did an afterthought heel. I don't think I will have a problem with the 2nd Sock Syndrome with this pair. I cannot wait to wear these beauties.

I wanted to show my Birthday gift that I got from my FIL. He made me a tabletop swift in Oak and stained it... I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I got it early for Christmas because he could not wait to give it to me and I couldn't wait either. It was quite funny trying to explain to the WHOLE family what the heck it was and what it did... Of course, they didn't know what the big deal was but I was in HOG Heaven with this gift... I think that these types of gifts are so heartfelt and the most memorable. It is portable too which I love!!!! He has made up some more to sell at the craft fairs. The WHOLE family was amazed at how much they sell for in the knitting market... I got myself a jewel...
Last Month we visited the Sanrio store with my nieces and this is what I brought home. It is an insulated lunch carrier but I am going to use it for knitting... The bottom zipper part I am going to use for my needles and my project up top... It is VERY Cute... The girls always have a blast going into the store... Ya gotta love Hello Kitty.

I mentioned earlier that I have been reading... I just finished The Golden Compass. I was going to start on The Subtle Knife but I started on a Lynsay Sands The Accidental Vampire... I am really thinking that this book will be funny...

I guess that is about it in the the Knit Diva world... Please pray for some warm weather for the Midwest or I am liable to relocate to warmer climate....Ü

It has been so weird in Missouri.. We have had some strange weather. One day, it can be 75 and then the next 19 degrees.. We have been hibernating in the house and on the nice days trying to soak up as much sun as we can... We had almost 3 inches of rain in the last couple of days... The ground is saturated...

I have all these patterns in line to knit but my attention has only been for short and sweet projects... What better way to use up some sock yarn...

I have the squatty bag and the Hedgehog on my list this month to finish. Plumpy and I are knitting something once a month together... This month we are doing a felting project. We decided on the Hedgehog. I just have to figure out what kind of colors I want to make him.

Poor Plumpy has been taking care of her son and now she has the Yuckies... Poor thing!!! I hope you feel better...

It would be nice if we could be in Florida right now with some 85 degree weather...

My boys are about to go crazy been stuffed up in the house... The Guitar Hero has been keeping them busy but you can only listen to the same songs for so long. We are taking the Wii over to my MIL's house Saturday to bowl and have dinner... I think they will enjoy playing and getting some activity since it is only going to be 19 degrees... BRRRRR!!!!!

I am so ready for SPRING/SUMMER!!!! That DARN Groundhog!!! What does he know.. He just wants to sleep and be left alone... I guess it is bad for us...

I am such a BUM!!!!! It feels like Christmas was just yesterday and now we are almost done with January. I have been knitting and reading and ORGANIZING!!!! I have so many pictures to show but can't find my darn camera... Isn't that always my excuse... hehe

Plumpy and I have a challenge every month that we are knitting a project together. I am almost done with my snake scarf.. It is going to be a Birthday present for my mom next month. I am also going to knit a ponytail hat to match. I finished my Mountain Colors socks and they will be going to my MIL today for her birthday. I have never given a pair of socks as gifts... It will be hard to part from them. You put so much effort into a pair that it is hard to give them away... I hope she will like them and enjoy them...

I have been reading the The Golden Compass and finally I am getting into the book... It had a rough start only because the beginning was hard to understand. Plumpy said that I should have went and seen the movie because it explains it a little more... I usually cannot watch a movie and then read the book. The book is definitely interesting. I have some other books that I have in holding and I cannot wait to read them.

I have some wonderful things to photograph when I find my camera and I promise to show them....

I don't know about you all but I am REALLY DONE with this COLD weather... No wonder people get depressed when it is COLD outside... 7 degrees sucks!!!! My boys just don't get it that it is TOO cold to go outside and play... The Wii has come in handy though and they are definitely enjoying that on these cold days...

The pattern was a little hard to start since I didn't understand it. I did a little research to find out that the pattern had some issues. I got some great tips to help me along and now I am on my way... Wendy (Plumpy) and I are doing (1) project a month together. I think it definitely motivates us to get it done since we are our own support buddy... It is so much easier doing a pattern with others... Of course, you can go on Plumpy's blog and see that she started before me and has more done... Her scarf is coming out very pretty even though she is having MAJOR issues with the yarn.

I got some Mountain Colors Bearfoot yarn from my Aunt Sherry for Christmas and I had to start on a sock immediately... The Mohair makes if feel so luscious... It feels like cashmere on my feet... Love it!!!! I just did a short cuff and CO 64 stitches... It fits GREAT!!! I started on the next sock so it would have a pair... I don't want the other one being lonely...

Nothing like starting the NEW YEAR with a Police Report!!!!! YEAH!!!! My son's $150 skateboard was stolen and I had to make a police report. I seen the kid late yesterday night on his bike holding a skateboard. I told him(by his name) I hope to God that is not one of my boys skateboards..

My DH insisted filing a police report since this boy has stolen many other items from our neighborhood and was caught doing it... Needless to say, it ended on a good note.. We got the board back!!!

Hubby had to work today and so me and the boys are just hanging out and watching wrestling...LOL!!! I am knitting on my sock right now but still no pics... I forgot my camera at the store yesterday...

I know it has been awhile since I posted... The Holidays can make you go crazy... We all have been staying up REAL LATE playing the Wii!!! My hubby is totally addicted to Guitar Hero III... You would think I would have more coordination knitting all the time but my brain cannot function correctly with this game... I have been playing Mario Party 8 and Mario Galaxy.. We have been doing a lot of Baseball and Bowling...hehe I think we definitely got our monies worth with this system.

I have some projects that I have been working on but I haven't had a camera at home to take the pictures... I am at the shop today and so I will be taking pictures today and downloading them...

My FIL made me my VERY OWN swift made out of Oak!!! It is so beautiful!!! Of Course, I have already taken it for a test ride and it works great!!!! That is my NEW friend... It is my early Birthday present!!!

Plumpy gave me some wonderful yarn to work with, stitch markers, an AWESOME Knitting Bag.. My Aunt gave me some size 2 addi needles and some really cute stitch markers also and some Mountain Colors Bear Foot yarn that I am knitting some socks with right now... YEAH!!!!

I will take some really nice pics so you can see my gifts I received...

Since it is that time of year to reflect what I have accomplished and set goals for next year I am making some knitting goals and personal goals... I think I accomplished everything I wanted in 2007 for knitting and so my goals this year I am going to try to challenge myself... What kind of goals do you all have for yourself?

I just finished the first Peekaboo mitten from Magknits Feb 2007. I have the ribbing done on the 2nd and I cannot wait to finish these cuties... I might put a button to hold it together. I think these are my first mittens that I have made... I am prepping myself so I can start working on some fair isle mittens that I have been dying to make...

I cannot believe Christmas is almost here. We did get hit with a lot of snow this past weekend. I think our area got 5 inches. Not even 10 miles away got 7inches... It is kind of nice to have a little white stuff once in awhile.

We were one of the lucky areas that did not get very badly with the ice storms that hit... We did get hit last year and lost my favorite tree in my back yard. I felt sorry for all those people out there that did not have electricity. It has been very cold at night.

I know this is short and sweet today but I thought I would share my Peekaboo...hehe Ü I hope I will be wearing these very shortly...

I finished this hat yesterday. It is for a Christmas present. I used up some of the Bernat that I used for my Ponytail hat. She wanted it black and gray. I still have to find a cute button to set it off but for the most part it is finished.

This evening we are suppose to be hit with some snow... YEAH!!! I am kind of excited to get a little snow... I hate the Winter but I enjoy the snow once in awhile... It has been raining and sleeting for the past 2 weeks and I am sick of the dreary weather...

We are suppose to be doing some Christmas shopping this weekend. I guess it depends on how much snow we are getting. I cannot believe that Christmas is almost here. My anniversary is next week... It will be the BIG 10 for us this year... That has flown by too...

I hope everyone stays warm this weekend... If I am snowed in, I will probably have some FO's to show next week...YEAH!!!

I knitted this up this weekend. It was a very easy knit and I plan on making another one in black. I knitted it in Bernat Softee Chunky. It is nice and warm and cozy. I might have used half the skein of yarn for this Hat.

I still have to weave in the ends and sew the buttons on. I will be wearing this one TODAY!!! We have ICE everywhere around here. Where we are we don't have it on the roads... "Thank Goodness" But on everything else.... I do not like ICE... It has finally stopped freezing rain..

I have definitely been in the mood to knit on hats, mittens, and socks... It must be the Season. I know all three will be in my near future. Cat Bordhi's new book is intriguing and I have the right kind of yarn to start on one of the socks in that book... I cannot wait to dive into some of her sock patterns.

For Heaven's Sake!!! I did not realize it has been so long since I have blogged. Christmas is right around the corner and I am just now getting around to putting away Halloween costumes. Can you tell I am behind??? LOL

I have been doing some casual knitting but it hasn't amounted to any finished objects. I am knitting up a sock yarn holder that I got the pattern off Ravelry.

We did go out on Black Friday and BOY was it LOVELY!!! We got to see a fist fight at Wal-mart. We were only there for the pure entertainment and we definitely got a show... WE all took a MAD RACE to the Gamestop to be one of the INSANE to wait in line for a NINTENDO WII!!!! Later, to find out that they were SOLD OUT!!!! They opened an hour earlier than advertised!!! My sister took a mad dash to another Gamestop in the mall while we were waiting... I asked the Lady that told us of the BAD NEWS, "Isn't there like 2 other Gamestops in the Mall?" She replied quietly, " Yes, actually there are 3!!!" She could not get it out of her mouth before me and my mom took a MAD DASH to another Gamestop... I had a man on my tail and he took the upstairs one as we opted for the LOWER level.

My sister was waiting in line behind one customer... NO ONE WAS IN THIS STORE!!!!! I asked the guy and he said, "YEP, we have one!!!"

I told him, "ARE YOU FREAKEN SERIOUS??" He brought it out from the back and I told him that if I wasn't married that I would KISS HIM ON THE LIPS!!!!" My sister got one too for her son!!!

My BOYS are going to LOVE SANTA to death!!!!! It will probably be the last year that they believe and I want it to be the best!!!! I am so happy!!!

Now, I just have to figure out what else I need to buy for the darn thing... I know they want Guitar Hero III... If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!!!!

Well, I am sorry I haven't posted... I have been playing on Ravelry and loving every minute of it... Ü

Easy Ribbed Hat....

I finished my Groovy Socks last week and wanted to celebrate by making something fast and easy.... And this is the pattern I found on Ravelry. Knot Another Hat Really quick and easy pattern for your bulky yarn stash... I have tons of Yarn Bee Mosaic Twist in my stash that worked out perfect.

I used size 11 on my hat which I think worked out perfect. The yarn suggests size 15's...

Thanksgiving is this week and I am kind of excited about the R&R ... DH and the boys will be off starting Wednesday and not have to go back until Monday.. YIPPEEE!!!!

Us girls are going out this Black Friday but we are not racing to get anywhere particular... NO BIG, BIG Sales... We are going out to Breakfast and then window shopping and taking our time... If you recall what happen to me last year on Black Friday I don't want another one of those days... This Diva that is woke up at 4am and without her pot of coffee is not the best company....ROFL!!!!

Plumpy might even venture out for BREAKFAST but that turd is almost done with her shopping... I am so jealous... My boys are extremely hard to buy for this year and I don't know why... They really don't know what they want and I cannot make up their mind for them...

Well, I was going to show my socks that I finished but blogger will not upload any pictures now... I will try back and post the pictures of my new socks I finished...

One week until Thanksgiving... Can you believe it???

Here is my little mutten head.. He is my company during the day while I am working at the store...hehe We are going through the teething stage right now...LOL!!! His baby teeth are falling out and his big teeth are coming in... Needless to say we have bought a lot of toys lately to surpass his little teething stage...

We are having a great time with Cash... I love him to death.. We just bought him a new pen and for some odd reason he does not want to sleep in it... It might be that he was spoiled one night and slept on the bed because he out grew his other kennel in lightning speed...LOL!!!!

On Knitting News... Monday night I was granted some wonderful hand dyed yarn from Yummee Yarn.... Here is a sneak peek at 2 new colorways that she is offering... I am so excited to knit with both... The first up is the New "Apple Harvest". I think out of both this is my favorite.. Sorry for the camera shot... My new camera was being borrowed and I had to take it with my old canon... But you get the picture of what it looks like......

I think this skein of yarn will be used for a pattern in the Cat Bordhi book... I cannot wait to dive right into a pattern in that book... I have been reading up on that book before I start any project with it... She is a genius... That is the only words to describe her new innovative ways of thinking about a knitted sock... I think Plumpy and I will do a mini KAL together to start one of the socks... At least we can work together through our trial and errors on one the patterns.

The next one up is very vibrant. I don't think it has been named yet but you can see why I fell in love with it... I love how colors and objects around us can inspire colors for a skein of dyed yarn...

I think these colors would be perfect for a self striping sock, don't you?

I have some great news that I am on the toe of my Groovy Socks and then will do the afterthought heel... Those will be off the needles and I will start on other projects that have been on the back burner for some time now.

Coffee Cozy for those cold hands...

It is November and I am so not ready for this weather. I made this coffee hand cozy for those cold days waiting at the bus stop with my boys... coffee cup cozy This was a super easy pattern and I have another one on the needles. I have a couple of hat patterns that I would like to start very soon. The New Interweave Holiday knits has some really cute patterns... I have to say that the majority of the patterns I would do in the magazine.

I have a son home from school today due to an injury to his mouth last night... Concrete floor and a mouth do not mesh well... (Just a pointer...LOL!!!)

I am freaking out that Christmas is right around the corner and I have not done any of my shopping... As my boys get older, it gets harder to shop for them....hehe

I have some really cute pics of the puppy to show... He is getting so big and such big baby... We have had a lot of enjoyment with him in that past couple of weeks.

My camera has went crazy and I cannot upload my pics to the computer... grrrrrr!!! So, no pics as of yet. I hate not having pictures to share.. It is boring....LOL!!!!

Halloween is in a couple of days and my boys are ready for the sweet treats... I do have to admit that last year I made myself sick by eating their candy the night of Halloween...

The boys are being a skeleton that lights up and Scream that lights up... We are going to a Haunted Hay Ride Sunday. One already told me that he is not going to do the Haunted Hay Ride (which is fine... I don't care for them myself) They are having a big bonfire and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and giving out goodies to all the kids...

Our annual "Apple Butter Festival" is this weekend!!! It is a bummer that I will not be going this year... The boys hate that type of thing and so we are opting not to go... I am so bummed because all of us girls in the family go and enjoy crafts, food, and MORE FOOD!!!! I think we mostly like it because of the food.

I seen an absurd thing the other day!!!! Wal-mart already had Christmas TREES lit up in the store yesterday... I know Christmas is coming at light speed but come on.... Halloween and Christmas stuff at the same time... COME ON!!!! I am boycotting Christmas at Wal-mart this year since they took away layaway.... What is that all about??? Wal-mart is a major selling point around Christmas because of that factor... I usually have most of my Christmas done and paid off. Of course, the boys are asking for the most expensive things on the market.... They want PSP's X (2).... Plus all the games, movies and gadgets that go with them...

I think Hubby and I knew from the get go that having twins would not be easy. But, I think as they get older it is more apparent that toys, clothes, shoes and everything else for little boys becomes outrageously expensive..... I guess we kind of think of the NOW instead of thinking about CARS and COLLEGE!!!! OH MY!!!! (lets not even talk about that)

Anyway, I don't know if you all trudge through the crowded malls and stores to shop on Black Friday but here is a sight to watch until Thanksgiving. I watch this sight for the good deals and map out where we are going on Black Friday. Black Friday Website As we get closer to Thanksgiving you will see more and more ads popping up. I have been using this sight for over 3 years and love it... Even if you are planning on cyber shopping it helps to know about the deals...

It is Good to be Home.....

We all got back from Louisiana Sunday night. We left Wednesday evening to head to Cicily Island for a race. It takes us about 10 hrs to get there. Talk about a trip... I was in a truck with for adult men... My little ones stayed home with their grandma... I thought it would be a great time to catch up on some reading and knitting but our trip was work more than play... I didn't get much time to do anything besides enjoy the nice weather, Louisiana hospitality, Wonderful Cajun Cuisine and some good hard racing....LOL!!!! The trip was more for our business than a vacation but we did have a blast.

I am hoping I will have some pictures to show from our trip when they are developed. I absolutely enjoyed myself but missed my boys tremendously... We will be heading out there again in the Spring and the boys will definitely be going with us this time.

On Knitting News: Not much to really post about since on the trip home I slept the whole way.... I have about 2 inches of the foot to do on my sock and then the toe... I will finish the afterthought heel when I finish the toe... After those are done I am going to start on some hats... I am in the mood for hats... I really have enjoyed being on Ravelry. My name on Ravelry is: KnitDiva. That place is just endless and I plan on organize my stash when I get a minute and start entering it in to my stash on Ravelry...

It has definitely cooled down from the 80 degree weather we were having last week... I am ready to kick my self in the behind and start knitting..... How 'bout you???

A NEW addition to the Family.......

We just got a new addition to the family Thursday night. DH brought home a 9 week old Boxer... Talk about the cutest thing ever. We have named him Cassius "CASH" Clay. The past couple of days he has been a little timid being away from his doggie mom. The boys are ecstatic and so am I. The boys have definitely kept the little one busy in between his little doggie naps. He has already been spoiled and we plan on taking him on a trip to get some NEW treats and some toys...

I forgot about how it feels to be awaken in the middle of the night. For the past couple of nights he has woke me up around 3am to go potty....

I don't have my camera with me at work to send some adorable pictures of this little guy. I will upload some pics when I get home to show you how cute he is.

In knitting news, I have been knitting on the second sock to the groovy sock and I am hoping I can finish them this week... I have other projects on the side lines to get going on.... New projects on the needles coming ahead... Ü

I finished one of the Groovy Socks and I am started on the second one before I have a case of the "2nd Sock Syndrome". I love how this yarn patterned while I was knitting. I am hoping it will do the same when I do the next sock... The Afterthought heel was nowhere near as hard as I thought it would be. It was like doing a toe decrease... I am looking forward to the next sock.

I think the 2nd sock will fly by since I will Knit it all the way through before doing the heel. (Now that I know how to calculate it out.)

Since October starts Monday I have to really kick myself into gear and start knitting my Christmas gifts for Plumpy (Wendy)... I know you will probably read this... I don't think I will have a problem finding things to knit but I hate being on a deadline in fear of not completing on time...

Still loving Ravelry!!!! I am a little obsessive over the whole thing right now... I love having all the features that it has for you....

RAVELRY HERE I COME!!!!!

I got on to Ravelry last night after midnight. I had about 200 people ahead of me and I knew I would be on... I checked last night and then had to pull myself away from the computer and go to bed... Of course, the kids and I woke up about 15 minutes before the bus was suppose to be there... I hate when I do that...

For those of you that have not made it into Ravelry (Be patient or like me impatient). It is definitely worth the wait... NOW, it is going to take me forever to try to get everything I want to do there done.. Talk about wanting to get organized right away. You get to organize your needles, stash, books, and etc. It will help with taking the worry out of "if you need to buy something" for a project... I can't tell you how many times I have went out to buy a set of needles and to find out that I have 3-4 sets of the same ones.

It will be great to do research on projects you are looking into doing. You can even organize "up and coming projects" you want to dab your fingers in. How KICK ASS is that!!!! You can look up that project and see what kind of yarn people used and needle size. I think that is the COOLEST!!! I am always looking on the computer at other people's blogs or forums to see if someone use the yarn I wanted to use for that pattern...

They already have tons of groups that you can join which is a plus!!! The chore will be trying to find "Fav" people that I read their blogs on a daily basis. I have a lot I don't even have on my blog. It will be a chore but I will LOVE every minute of it....

Well that is all I know about it right now but I will let you know once I venture out more into the World of Ravelry.

On Knitting News: I am doing the toe of the Groovy Socks... I finished the afterthought heel and it was a little odd to use DPN's since I totally despise them but I got the hang of them and it turned out OK for my first try. Once I finish the toe, I will post a picture.

Afterthought Heel pics

I haven't got too far with my sock but I wanted to show it in progress.... It is a little weird to keep going and forget about the heel until later... I think I will get over it when I get a little further. I can't wait to get to about 4 inches and then do the heel.

I am hoping that the heel goes O.K. and the instructions are not hard...hehe

I just found a really cool site for all of us addicted to Yarn shops. I think a lot of us when traveling look up local yarn shops to adventure through.

If you know of LYS that are not on the list, let them know about this site so they can sign up. Then, ALL of us can take an adventure to their store when we are in their town....Knit Map This site is quite cool!!!!

I have been piddling around with my knitting lately!!!! I needed something that would excite me and teach something I haven't already taught myself. My cuz Wendy (Plumpy Knitter) was talking about the "Afterthought Heel" or "Peasant Heel". I did some research and found some amazing blogs, tutorials, and patterns that have this type of heel.

I really like the idea of this heel. On handknitted socks the heel is the first to show the most wear and tear... Since it is knitted separately, you can unravel the heel and knit a new heel when need be...

So, I had a sock that I have been knitting on here and there. I am hoping it will come out like I hoped. The only issue that I have with the Afterthought Heel is the length of the foot. How do you calculate how long you have to have it... One of the blogs that I was reading yesterday said to knit a few inches of your foot and then do the heel... Try it on for size and knit the rest of your foot and toe... I think that is a GREAT Idea and I will try this out... Of course I brought everything in my knitting bag besides my socks today... So, no pictures but I will take them soon!!!

RAVELRY is taking about 500-600 memberships a day.... I calculated it out and it looks like in the next 4-5 days I will be invited to the pot of Gold under the Rainbow....hehe I cannot wait... I am jealous that Wendy is about 300 people before me.... GRRRRR!!! That is OK though because we have a PLAN!!! We might share and be (Knitting Cousins) on there... YEAH!!!!!

The weather has been so beautiful lately that it has got me in the mood for organizing and cleaning out stuff... This weekend I am going to try to tackle my yarn... YIKES!!!!

Sorry for the goofy picture but I am at work and it is kind of hard to take a picture of yourself. The only option was in the bathroom....LOL!!! Plus my hair was pulled up in a ponytail and I had to put it down or I would have looked really goofy...LOL

I really liked this pattern. The next one I make, I will knit 7 or 7.5 inches for the length. I want it to be a little droopier...

The next on the list is the Fetching pattern.

On non-knitting NEWS.... My hubby decided to get a Rubik's Cube for the boys Sunday. He thought it would be a hoot to see them try to master the cube..... Low and Behold, he didn't know that I would steal the Rubik's cube for myself... I started Sunday and finished it Wednesday.... ROFL!!!! The boys were mad because they couldn't touch it until I was done... I promised them after I mastered it that they could play with it ALL they wanted.... As a kid, the only way I got the colors to match was peel the stickers off and reposition them the way they needed to be.... Tyson has a great 8 step tutorial to help you along....hehe He is the one that can do the Rubik's cube in 20 seconds... Those darn geniuses....LOL!!! Anyway, he helped me out a lot to finish it...

I have pics of the whole fiasco and will down load them off my camera...ROFL!!!! Of Course the boys messed it up the minute I showed them... Oh Well!!!

I finished the Le Slouch hat from Knit and Tonic this weekend. I absolutely love the beret. I knitted it in Stockinette stitch. I will be knitting up some Fetchings to match. I think I will definitely knit a couple more of these beret's in different colors... I love how simple the pattern was to do... I forgot my camera at home today and so I can't download any pictures at work but when I get home I will definitely take some pics of the beret...

Did you see that Knitpicks is coming out with some Harmony Needles!!!! I think I will be buying some very soon.... hehe I have a list to order!!!

Today has been 6 years since the Tragic 9/11. It feels like it happened yesterday. My heart goes out to all the families that were effected first hand. On this day it is permanently etched in my mind of this tragedy. My heart pores out to the children that never had the opportunity to meet their fathers. The Firefighters and Police Officers that lost their lives. All of them hold a piece of my heart.

Brothers, Sisters, Mothers, Daughters, Fathers, Sons, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncle, Friends, Neighbors, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. You will always be in the hearts of the American People.

PLEASE take a moment to Remember our Soldiers and their families that have lost their lives and those that are still fighting for our Country.

A Nice LONG Weekend!!!!

The Holiday weekend was very nice but very busy. Sunday was one of our Family Reunions and My sister, mom and myself went down to Eminence to have a wonderful time with our family... We had a lot of joyable time to spend catching up and enjoying a couple of days with out the kids and hubby's...LOL!!!!

We went to my grandparent's and cousin's resting place to visit. I was crabbing at my sister that she parked in a fairly high grassy area. LOW and BEHOLD, I SCREAMED like a little girl when I stepped out of the car and my mom yells at me that I am stepping on a SNAKE!!!!! I lifted my foot in a hurry and started running for my LIFE!!!!! My Aunt's are screaming at me, "What Happen???" My sister and my mom are barrel laughing because the garter snake was no bigger than my hand but you don't scare the pee out of someone that is deathly scare of those nasty creatures....

My mom was teasing me earlier about watching for these things out here when we checked into our hotel. What would possess someone to stuff a rattle snake and some other yucky thing with fangs as long as my pinky? I told her, "OH WHATEVER!!!"

I guess when I stepped out of the car to let my mom out I must have stepped on a hole where that pesky thing was coming out of his home... My mom said I must of stepped on his head and when I lifted my foot, he started to squirm away under MY CAR!!!!! I told my sister to drive on the gravel road before I would get in the car...

I didn't get much knitting done since all those road out there are rolling curvy hills. I forgot my camera but my sister took a bunch of pictures and I will upload some pics of our Labor Day Weekend..

I started a sock from Sock Pixie called Groovy Socks with yarn I dyed. The pattern is super easy....

I did learn a trick last week that probably everyone else knows by now but it is "The New and Improved SSK" Slip 1 as if to knit, Slip 1 as if to purl, and knit. It lays down a lot better...

Saartje's Bootees

I finished a pair of Saartje's Bootees Saturday. I used Regia with a size 2 needle. They came out so cute!!! I will be picking up some buttons today to finish them. Knitting these up were super easy and I will probably make a couple more of these with some left over sock yarn. I think I might go up in needle size to see if I can make them a little bigger.

I am in the mood to make some hats and I am looking at some mitten patterns right now... I will be starting a new project this week. I just don't know what I want to do...hehe

I have finally finished the Zephyr Glee sweater!!!! YEAH!!! It is off the needles and I cannot be any happier. I will say that working with a cotton blend has made the sweater a little bigger than I hoped. All in All, it was an easy knit... I will do a top down pattern any day. I still have to give it a little wash and block it a little. I don't know if I will put the eye and hooks on it yet.

I casted on for the saartje's bootees. I think a need a little project to finish fast. The girls in the family have decided to draw names for Christmas. We are knitting something for them for Christmas!!! We already drew the names so we can get a head start!!!! Of course it was me and Wendy's idea to scheme this up...hehe Low and Behold!!!! I got Wendy's (Plump knitter) name... Do you realize how hard it is going to knit something for her and not post it on my blog???? I will find a way to post...hehe I have some great ideas in store for her... I cannot wait!!!

I don't know what it is lately but I have been in the mood to knit on scarves, hats, and mittens... I never thought I would ever say this in my lifetime but I am kind of looking forward to some cooler weather... This 107 degree weather can find another home... My poor plants and flowers do not have a fighting chance in this weather.

School started yesterday and I cannot tell you how happy I am to get back to my daily routine again. It is kind of hard doing mommy things and then be a WWE Referee between (2) 8yo....LOL!!!! They are happy right now that school is in session... I give them a couple of weeks and that will be old news...

We Have one more week before school starts at our house. I cannot wait for the day!!! Our house has been ambushed for the past month with the "Dog Days" Summer Cold!!!! I had to take one of them to the DR yesterday to find out that he has a severe sinus infection and a double ear infection.

I guess taking care of snotty nose kids for the past month has not helped my immune system.. It decided to fail and I ended up getting some type of laryngitis. Do you know how hard it is to be a mom to 8 year rambunctious boys and not be able to speak besides in a small whisper? Now, my voice is coming back but I have a sinus infection going on... YUCKY!!! Doesn't God know that Mom's should not get sick!!!! ROFL!!!!

Hubby decided to take some vitamins so he would not get sick and he had an allergic reaction... GREAT!!!!! HIVES and vomiting... Right up my alley to pull every last one of my hairs out...LOL!!!!

I have been trying to knit but it is a little at a time. I want to get done so bad with my Glee Tee that it is killing me... I need a quick project to soothe my idea of finishing something...hehe I think we all go through that... I have been seeing those Saartje Bootees and I cannot resist to knit some up for one of my best friends baby girl... I have the cutest sock yarn to knit with... I am hoping to relax and knit some of those up...

I am SOOOOO JEALOUS of you RAVELRY members!!! I am very impatient!!! I feel like the last kid picked for kick ball... I know all of you are having a blast and I cannot wait to get my grubby hands in there... I know I will surely be addicted just like all of you...

I want to thank ALL of you wonderful knitters that have been using their creativity to make up some awesome patterns for FREE lately. I have about 10 free patterns on my list to knit. I cannot wait to get started on them. (Maybe some Christmas presents...but not promising) hehe

Back to Knitting I shall Go!!!!

Well, I finished Harry Potter yesterday.... Boohoo!!! I am sad that I finished it too fast... I wish I would have savoured the book a little more... I think she out did herself this time.. I am just upset that it is the end of Harry Potter Books!!! I have enjoyed each and everyone of them.

I have not picked up knitting in a week... I am picking up the needles to get back on track.. I have been kind of in a slump of knitting for the past couple of months. I haven't started anymore NEW projects. I kind of want to get projects that are already started off the needles... It kind of gets boring though.

I am so proud of my sister!!!! I taught her 2 weeks ago how to use the magic loop and start her FIRST PAIR of SOCKS!!!! She is sooooo addicted!!!! Her stitches are perfect and right on the money. I made her cast on more than usuall because I thought she would be tight... (I guessed wrong!!! LOL) what is funny is that the sock fits ME!!!! I told her that her first pair of socks would be a wonderful Christmas gift for her only sister...>LOL!!!!

I cannot wait for her to show pictures of her socks!!!!

School is going to be starting very shortly!!! I think the boys and myself are anticipating it a little.. I think you can only do so much in the summer time before it is WWE everyday in the house...LOL!!!

It is the boys' Birthday Tomorrow!!!! They will be the BIG 8!!! I cannot believe it!!! They both wanted a skateboard (not the ones from walmart MOM!!!) We bought them on Ebay at a GREAT DEAL!!! You cannot go wrong with Ebay!!! Normally the boards and kits are about $116.00 plus shipping. We bought them for $50 +$20 on shipping... $70 (2) is not that bad if you ask me... I was not very keen on buying boards for that much when it will be destroyed in NO TIME flat with my Two!!! LOL My hubby could not wait after he put them together and he gave them their boards last Friday... He also bought them a ramp and a rail that they will get tomorrow.... ( I am deathly scared of this contraption since I have watched so much of SCARRED!!!!) If you haven't watched that show, you would never let your child step a foot on another skateboard.

Chevron Scarf Updates!!!

I started my Chevron Scarf this weekend!!! I never realized that a scarf could be so addicting!!! I love how easy the pattern is to memorize. I am really loving the color combo!!! It is colors that I would normally not be my first pick since my first choice would be pinks and reds and lime greens...LOL!!! I wanted to try something different and I am glad I did.. This scarf is TOTALLY MINE!!!!

I finally got to the knitting in the round on my Glee sweater!!! It will go fast now!!! I am hoping I will have this done very shortly!!! I am trying like MAD to get some projects off the needles... I have washcloth that needs to come off the needles also.

I finally got me a NEW cell phone yesterday!!!! YEAH!!! For the past 3 months I have had to deal with my #9 not working, sometimes my GO/GREEN button, and my battery taking a dump when I am on the phone for more than 5 minutes after it has a full charge...

I got me a PINK razor!!! Who would have thought, huh??? LOL OH WELL!!! My hubby has one too. We bought the USB port also. I wouldn't have the pic of the Chevron Scarf if it wasn't for me taking a pic and downloading it... I can't wait to play with some music and make some ringtones for myself. I guess that is enough about my new gadget!!!!hehe

BOOK REVIEW: Michelle Rowen Fanged and Fabulous (Series to Smitten and Bitten) If you are a fan to Paranormal Romance it is great read!!! I really didn't get into reading paranormal romance until last year. Romance books or what my dad likes to call them "SMUT BOOKS".. Plumpy A.K.A Wendy decided to get me hooked to some series!!!! I went to a couple of their book club meetings and got caught in some of the series that they were reading. I still don't care for historical romance or anything of that nature but the paranormal has been fun to read. I love reading in the SUMMER!!! My knitting goes on the backburner when I have a book coming out!!!!LOL Wendy and I keep track of our series books coming out!!!!

HARRY POTTER will be out Next WEEK!!! My knitting will definitely be on HOLD until I finish that humongous BOOK!!!! I cannot wait to have that book in my hands....

These are the 3 beauties that granted to be in presence today... I ordered these a couple of weeks ago before the 4th of July. I have been impatiently waiting for this package to show up...hehe

From Left to Right: Blue Moonstone, Ms. LaRock, and Pebble Beach.

Blue Moonstone and Ms. LaRock will become my Chevron Scarf. My Pebble Beach will be added to my ever growing sock yarn collection.. I will be doing a lot of sock knitting this fall...LOL!!!!

Can you tell that my color palette has changed!!! I am trying to get away from all my PINKS!!! I thought it would be a nice change to go with some different colors. Even though many of my wish lists for Blue Moon Fiber Arts has lots of pinks.

The Blue Moonstone is absolutely beautiful... I would love to knit some socks with this yarn. The color would be perfect with jeans....hehe We will see if my color combo will go together for my scarf. If not, I will be knitting some socks with this colorway. If you haven't went over to Blue Moon Fiber arts, you should. They have some new colorways to pick from.

It is nice and quiet at work today. NO KIDS!!!! My boys went with my MIL to the St. Louis Arch today!!! It is the first time they will be up in the Arch.. Yes, I know... They will be 8 next month and we live 15 minutes away and they have never been up in the Arch.. (Pretty Sad, Huh.)

FUNNY TRUE STORY:

My boys like to play with some kids next door. They were out playing when I was on our back porch BBQ'ing. The boys came running in to tell me this........

Youngest: Hey Mom!!! I just WON $15.

MOM: How did you win $15?

Oldest: My brother just ATE (2) WORMS!!!!! (As youngest is SMILING from ear to ear with the aftermath of the worms in his TEETH!!!!! OMG)

MOM: YOU DID WHAT?????

Youngest: SEE MOM, I GOT $15!!!!

MOM: OMGoodness, GO INSIDE AND BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!!!

My hubby and I had to sit him down and explain that just because someone wants you to do something doesn't mean you should do it spill!!!!

I just cannot believe he was bet to eat worms!!!! Sometimes I wonder if my life would be so entertaining if I had twin GIRLS!!!!!

Well I know that I haven't been posting lately and when I have it has been with no exciting pics or news....LOL!!!! I will said it myself, I have been BORING lately!!!! LOL

I have been dealing for the past 2 weeks with my DH being in and out of the ER for back and side pain. We thought and ALL of the DR's thought it was kidney stones. Come to find out that he had a BROKEN BACK!!!! We later found out that it was an old injury and that the pain was coming from a few pulled muscles and a pinched nerve...

My husband was cutting down a tree about a year and half ago and the branch fell and knocked the ladder out from under him. He threw the chain saw and landed on his shoulder and his neck. He dislocated his shoulder and that is when we think he broke a chunk off his L1... The Doc says that it is healing fine and so NO SURGERY!!! Thank the Lord!!!
So being at the hospital I have gotten some knitting done and read my Mary Janice Davidson Undead book.... I couldn't wait to borrow the book from Wendy, so I went ahead and bought it.....

I am 3 inches done with the underarm of my Glee Tee. I have 2 1/2 inches to go before I start knitting in the round. I cannot wait to get this off the needle.. I finished one of my first Jaywalker socks in STR Sherbet. I love the colors!!! The sock is extra thick and will definitely be a wonderful sock for those cold winter
nights....hehe I cannot wait to wear them. I bought some more STR sock yarn and I am waiting for them to ship... I cannot wait to start my Chevron Scarf. I picked STR Ms LaRock and Blue Moonstone. I also bought STR Pebble Beach to add to my collection of sock yarn that I will start knitting in the fall...

I have about 2 inches done on the 2nd Jaywalker. I haven't knitted on them as much as my Glee Tee because I want that done quickly as possible.

I hope that all of you had a wonderful 4th of July. DH was off work for the first time on the 4th and it was quite nice to enjoy the day with him and family. We all came home with all 10 fingers and toes...

I have tried for the past week to download my pics of the jaywalker sock in the STR Sherbet... They are coming out so cool and I cannot wait to finishe both of them...

Knitty has been out for a couple of days now and I am a little excited with a few of the patterns for the Summer issue.. I do like the bootie socks that have the lace on the top of the foot with the cable heel flap... I will be making a pair of these very shortly...

I have been taking breaks from knitting to read a little... I don't get to read as much as I use to because knitting has taken a lot of my time... It was so nice to pick up a book and READ!!!! I love reading so much.. It has given me the fever to read another book.. I just got down with Kerrelyn Sparks new book Be Still My Vampire Heart. It is the 3rd book to How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire... I love these books... I am starting on a new Lynsay Sands book now...

We have been so busy with painting and getting new furniture for our living room lately... It actually has been nice to sit back and relax a little on my new couch and knit....hehe

Well I hope you don't get bored with a blog that doesn't have pictures right now... I have to figure out why my camera won't download my pictures off the memory card... I will have a picture day when I get it worked out...

TODAY was the first day of Summer Vacation!!!!

We had a nice weekend but I think we are glad to be home!!! We traveled to Mississippi on Saturday and then on Sunday we went to Tennessee. We didn't get home until 3am Monday morning... We had to drag racing events to go to this weekend... Both the boys raced. One got 1st place and the other got 2nd... WAY TO GO BOYS!!!! National Champions...hehe

Monday we visited both families and were ready to come home and relax... All day today has been recouping from this weekend... I did get quite a bit done on my Jaywalker socks in STR Sherbet... I am going to take a picture of it tomorrow when I am at work... Don't have the camera today... I can't wait to wear them...

Today would have been a perfect day to swim since the rest of the week here is going to rain... Bummer for the boys!!!

We went and seen Pirates of the Caribbean!!!! I LOVE YOU JOHNNY DEPP!!!! Great Movie... The BOYS loved it!!!! We still need to go see Shrek III... I think we will wait to go see Spiderman 3 when it comes to DVD... There are so many movies coming out in the next 2 months...

Well Summer Vacation STARTS tomorrow!!!!

Whew!!!! I have had an eventful couple of weeks!!!! I probably couldn't type it all in on posts... I will give a recap and then get to the yummy yarn I am knitting...LOL

Last week was horrific and went out in a BIG BANG!!!

It started the Saturday before Mother's Day, my hubby was called out on a MAJOR CASE and I didn't see him until the next Saturday... It is so HARD when it is so unexpected. They called Saturday at 8pm and said, "COME, NOW!!!!"

My son started to run a high fever Saturday even and did not break for 6 days. I thought it was a viral infection and we would have to wait it out... BUT, I went ahead and took him in to get checked out... While we were waiting for the Dr. I looked in his throat to see that his tonsils were swollen... I am like GREAT!!!! WE HAVE STREP!!!! The boys very rarely show signs of strep... NO YUCKIES on the tonsils, no sore throat, sometimes no fever... But if it is red that is all it takes to go get checked and I haven't been wrong yet... He had strep and off we were to WALGREEN's..

Mind you that Sunday was Mother's Day and I couldn't go anywhere because of a sick child and NO hubby.... I had him home for 4days out of school because the fever wouldn't go down... Working the store during the day with him and then we would drive home to get his brother and then drive back down to the store to do the late shift... YUCKY!!!!

Anyway, to top off the hellish week I had the cops called on me Friday!!!! MEEEEEEE!!!!!! Where is hubby when you truly need his get out of trouble card...LOL!!!! I was outside watching the boys ride their bikes and we live a very busy street... I warn the boys when a car is coming up or down our road. The unsickly one got a little close to a car going up the hill. I went to talk to our neighbor while the boys are riding outside and a 2 ladies pull up in my drive way and walk over to where I was standing.. One of the ladies hit my child last fall and so we were not on good terms anyway. She got in my face and started to point her finger in my face screaming obscenities. I told her that she needed to talk like a normal human being or GO AWAY.. I told her not to disrespect me in front of my boys. I guess she didn't like that too much so she went over to my son and pointed her finger in his face and told him, " YOU ARE GOING TO GET KILLED!!!!!"

Well needless to say it did not go very well after that!!!! I did not physically touch her but it went all bad after she threatened my son... I really don't remember a lot that I said. I know I told to get off my property and when she wouldn't leave I got so close in her face I was touching her nose SCREAMING at the top of lungs... She said that my son hit her car and I told her NO, you hit my son head on and I could have pressed charges and it would have been a misdemeanor. She told me that I didn't know what I was talking about and I began to tell her that my husband was in law enforcement.... She said that she didn't care what he was... Anyway, thank goodness my tenant saved the day and got her to leave...

About 20 minutes later I seen the cops go up the road... YEEEEHAW!!!! I knew that I would see them in about 10 minutes so I sat outside with the boys to wait for the verdict... She was told that she was trespassing and that she was in the wrong.

They were called because she said that I let my kids go outside unsupervised which everyone knows in that subdivision that I am outside when my boys are outside... AND, because she thought there would be some type of retaliation because my husband was a cop... LOL!!!! The cop that took the report was a buddy of my hubbies and asked what the heck happen... I told him the story and he told me to call 911 if she comes down again. After it was over I had to go next door to my neighbors and apologize about the crap the just happen. I don't drink but a nice glass of wine would have been nice. The only nice thing that came out of the ordeal was hubby called and said that he would be home that night...LOL!!!!

So this week has been much better... Hubby has been off all week... In the whole escapade last week I went and bought a ball winder a skein of STR Sherbert and some more cables for my option needles...hehe I had to compensate myself somehow for a hard week.... OHHH!!! Hubby bought me a NEW 2007 Honda 450R for Mother's Day!!!! LOL!!!!

So I started the Jaywalker sock with the STR Sherbert... This stuff is so vibrant that I cannot get the colors right on my camera... So I will show a picture off the website. OHHHH!!! I love this colorway... I will knit some more on my socks and I will try to take a picture to show off the colors....

A Creative Mind Working Overtime!!!

I think sometimes you get in a rut with your creative abilities especially with knitting. I have felt like that for the past couple of months... YIKES!!! It has been frustrating to say the least. The past 2 weeks I have had an over load of ideas for my knitting projects. I have had so many ideas that I had to get a journal to start writing them down so I won't forget what my little brain thought up... LOL!!!

My Aunt is going out of town in June. My Aunt and Plumpy have been creating some GREAT patterns for her to bring along... Well, I haven't knitted a felted project in probably a year...LOL!!!! I got this AWESOME idea that I haven't seen done yet for a purse and it has been whipping off the needles... I cannot wait to see how it turns out after I felt it... I will show pictures after I am done with it and write up the pattern.. I am going to have Plumpy knit one up to make sure the pattern is knitter friendly....hehe

I have also had some ideas for dying yarn in ways that I haven't seen done yet and I cannot wait to experiment with it. It might be a little bit on these ideas since it is a trial and error until I get it to come out the way I want it...

It has been raining non-stop for the past week and I am quite sick of it...LOL!!!! It is hard to get out of bed when it yucky outside... We have flood watches out everywhere... I know we needed rain but come on!!! I think it is suppose to be nice this weekend... I am looking forward to planting my flowers that I bought last week...LOL

Glee Tee is coming along slowly but I am getting there.. It just gets boring to do stockinette stitch...LOL I do love working with this Shine Sport from Knit Picks . I definitely could see some more projects working with this yarn again.

The SLOW knitting is the cause of the next 2 pictures that you see... Slowly but surely we are packing our store and trying to get the cheeseburger smell out of the store.. It use to be a restaraunt. It kind of makes me think twice on where I eat now... YUCKY!!!! I have been disinfecting and cleaning everyday and so I have seen much progress with how the store is looking and smelling...LOL!!!!

The Store has been our life for the past year and I am coping with not being a SAHM and learning more about motors than I really cared to at first... A year ago, all I knew how to do is start the key on my 4-wheeler and ride...

Talking to men on a daily basis is challenging when they know more than you at this sport... HEY, LOOK!!! A DUMB BLONDE AT THE COUNTER!!!!"

If I don't know the answer I just smile REAL BIG and hope for the BEST!!!!! It has helped me out many of times...hehe I am not mechanically inclined by any means... I have learned soooo much from my husband and mechanic that I would have never dreamed.... Sitting and watching them work on bikes has definitely gave me a greater understanding on how things work...

I am so shy when it comes to talking to people I don't know and in an environment that I didn't know nothing about... I have overcomed fears that I never thought I would... You stick me in a bank I could run it but put me in a business that is so NEW to me is stressful...

I am getting there and hoped to know these motors inside and out one of these days..

Saturday was ME Day!!!!!

Hubby and the boys went racing for the day... I had the WHOLE day to myself!!!! I really needed a day to myself... In my past post, you know how my couple of months have been.... I would have went yarn shopping but I swore to myself that I needed to finish my Zephyr Glee tee before I started looking for other projects...

So what was a girl to do all by herself.... (My next BEST thing!!!!) Clothes shopping!!!! Hubby and everyone close to me is quite sick of looking at my clothes that are showing sides of me that I would rather not show the whole world...LOL!!! Crack kills ya know... ROFL!!!! In the past year or so, I have lost a total of 60lbs. I thought to myself that I couldn't keep blaming my extra weight on having twins anymore since they are 7 yo....hehe

The past couple of months my husband has been sneaky!!! He has been throwing away underwear that I wore when I was pregnant with the boys.... I know that is embarrassing...LOL!!!! Every time we would go to the store he would say, "GO BUY SOME UNDERWEAR THAT FIT!!!!!" Of course, what women would not take the offer to go buy some under garments...hehe I would have to go home and throw away how many ever pieces that I bought from my drawers....ROFL!!

(Anyway, enough on the underwear escapade!)

I went clothes shopping to about 6 different store Saturday to find that I am really not happy with the fashion designers..... I am OK with the 80's retro look!!!! I am not OK with the shorts!!!! I can't tell you how many shorts I tried on but it was A LOT!!!!! The fashion this year is SUPER LOW or BOY SHORTS!!!! I do have to admit that I do have a little junk in the trunk that I am OK with and I wouldn't change it... The super low shorts are so short that it hits your pelvic bone... (How is that suppose to be enjoyable???) I have a backside so I would have to get a size bigger to fit the bootie and then they wouldn't fit in the waist... GRRRRR!!!! I like my shorts to hit my hips but not 2 inches below my hips...

Boy shorts are cute but I would like to have a little more variety.... I did find a couple of shorts at the Local Old Navy!!!! Thanks Old Navy for thinking of me!!! I like the retro 80's cotton short dresses like this but the leggings that are back in are not for me...

Well, enough on my ranting... I didn't break the bank or anything but I did come out of the day feeling refreshed and with some cute outfits... It felt kind of nice to spend some ME time!!!! I haven't had that for some time and it was nice... After I came home from shopping I sat my but on my fav chair and watched 2 movies and knitted... It was surreal and I enjoyed every minute of it... I think all of us are entitled to a day of ME TIME!!!! Ü Pictures coming your way...

Do you ever feel like you need a vacation from the every day lifestyle... I SO could use a day to myself sipping on a nice iced mocha and knitting on sunny beach with sand between my toes....LOL!!! Is that too much to ask...

My life has been a whirl wind that has mean going in every direction.... I don't know if I have said much on the blog about My husband and I owning our own ATV store... We have had it up and going since last July... I work it during the day while my husband works it in the evening hours ( after his other bring home the bacon job...hehe) We had the opportunity to move into a BIGGER and BETTER storefront this past week..... WOOOOO!!!! Not only has tax season sucked... (Doesn't it for all of us....LOL!!!) I have been getting paper work to the accountant and so forth and dealing with the moving process.... We moved our store this past weekend and I am so thankful it is OVER!!!! This Capricorn is not good with change and so it has been stressful for this chick....LOL!!!! I am happy that our store is moving up... My mom and my sister have started a new business also. They were moving this weekend as well... WOOHOO!!! BOY, do we know how to plan it!!!!

So Knitting NEWS!!!! I have had little time to knit on my Glee sweater but it has came out of its cubby... We dyed about 20 skeins of yarn in the past 2 weeks and so my needles have only seen swatches....LOL!!!!

I have some wonderful books that I would like to read in the near future... Does anyone else need a little vacation??? Maybe we can have a cyber vacation together...

I plan on putting up some pics when I get a new battery for my digital camera... Come Back soon!!! Just don't mind the cobwebs on my blog....ROFL!!!! Ü

Happy Easter to you ALL!!! I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday with your family and friends.

It is nice and COOL in the Midwest. I was hoping for that 80 degree weather we were having a week ago. I know the kids don't mind but it is cold!!!!

The Easter Bunny had a since of humor this YEAR!!!! LOL!!! The boys got some New tooth brushes for all the candy and other stuff they got this morning...hehe

I have been niddy noddying skeins of yarn this weekend to put up on ETSY.. My arms are getting a workout. Since the Holiday we weren't able to do the other skeins we have waiting. Next week we will have the rest dyed.

I just read "Cheryl" Out of the Box blog today and signed up to be in a drawing for the NEW DYSON at 5MinutesforMOM ... That Dyson Slim is quite enticing... Go over there and sign up for the drawing... They have it going until Weds. April 4th 1:00 Eastern time...

I had to go to the doctor today for the Yucky appt. I am so glad that is over... I was trying to find every excuse possible to not to go.... The only reason I went this morning is because my husband has the stomach flu and I did not want to be at home...

I don't know about you all out there but I am a GERM-A-PHOBE to the core!!!! He told me that he was up at 2am this morning. I started to get sick to my stomach and almost had a anxiety attack right there.... UGGGGG!!!!! I started to spray with my trusty Lysol every crevice of my house from top to bottom this morning until I had to leave... I have been freaking out ALL DAY!!!! I had the shakes at the dr's office today just thinking about it... It is a little case of OCD if you ask me... I have been this way ever since I had my boys... Going through their ordeal in the NICU for 3 months and not going in public with my boys until after they turned a year old changed me.

We went through the RSV shots and you name it... I was so bad that I washed my hands so many times a day that it looked like Freddy Krueger lived with me.. My hands were a bloody pulp and I had to wear gloves because they hurt so bad...

I hate feeling this way and I definitely do not want to pass it on to my boys...LOL!!!! I know I do rub off on them a little though... My son was in a public bathroom...ewwww... He tells me, "MOM, I didn't touch the handle!!!!"

Anyway, enough about me and my hang-ups.... Sorry to ramble!!! I still have been knitting on GLEE!!!! I borrowed the NEW James Patterson book and bought the New Lynsay Sands book... I just hope I get some time to read... I miss reading...hehe

Yep, it is Monday!!!! WooHoo!!!! The only thing I am happy about is that my boys are in school today.... ROFL!!! Having a half day on Weds. and then having Thursday and Friday off was a madhouse... I don't know how I did it before they were in school... I guess because I made them take naps until Kindergarten....hehe Mommie has to have a break!!!!

We bought the boys 2 new bikes this weekend and that helped....LOL!!! One of their bikes got stolen 2 weeks ago... Hubby was not happy... He went and cased out the WHOLE neighborhood this past week looking for the bike.

We bought the same exact bike for the both of them... NO FIGHTING!!!! I don't know if it is just boys that do that but it definitely gets on my last nerve... They were waiting at the bus stop this morning kicking each other in the shins... I mean, " COME ON!!!!" Some days, I just wonder what it would have been like if I would have had twin GIRLS!!! ROFL

Hubby went racing this weekend and by 10am Saturday morning I already had to discipline the littler one of the two. He bit his brother... GRRRRR!!! I called hubby and told him that I was on STRIKE from MOTHERHOOD!!!! It doesn't last long but a nice hour of time out in MY room locked away does the mind and body good....hehe

Knitting News!!!
I have been trying to knit on my Little Devil Lisa Souza socks for a month now... I have ripped it out 3 times... First time the pattern did not look right with the colorway. The second and third time the decreases did not look pretty enough.

My yarn came in this weekend for Glee... I cannot wait to start that pattern... It will be a change from my socks...hehe

In Knitting News, I have been knitting on some socks with Lisa Souza's Little Devil... I love how it is turning out... I am doing the heel flap and going to turn the heel.. I will take pictures REAL SOON!!!!

Lolly, has been knitting up the GLEE tee from Zephyr and I was drawn to that pattern... I bought the pattern and bought Cherry Red Knitpicks Cotton blend Shine Sport. I think it will look lovely for a Spring/Summer staple in my closet... I cannot wait to get the yarn in next week...

The WEATHER PEOPLE were so OFF today!!! They said we could have slight chance of rain... What the HECK!!!! We have had snow ALL DAY!!!! Nothing stuck to the ground but come on!!! I think with all the technology they could have predicted snow....LOL

Allergies Suck really BAD!!!!!

I guess spring is in the air because my head and nose are feeling the pain!!!! I have been praying for some warmer weather but not a head cold... YUCKY!!!!! I have been dealing with my boys and their allergies and have been pumping all of us with TONS of Vita C like crazy this Winter... Anyway, enough of my belly aching.... LOL!!!

Last weekend, I went over to my friend Tabitha's house and handpainted and dyed 16 skeins of yarn.... LOL!!! I never knew how addicting it could be... I have been knitting up swatches this week for each one... We had her hubby make some Niddy Noddies and he is going to make some Swifts also... All of the skeins came out Beautiful.. I will have some pictures up after I can get my scanner to work... I have TONS of pictures and I will taking some pics of the swatches after I put them in the wash..

I think Plumpy can agree that dying yarn is TOTALLY ADDICTING!!!! She has dyed some yarn that is really pretty... I see some socks in my future!!!!! I haven't done much productive knitting besides swatches but I got some patterns that I think will be started on the needles... Plumpy and I are thinking about doing a pattern together...

One of my Best Friends is having a baby this Summer... I cannot wait to find out what she is having so I can start knitting up some cute baby stuff... I really want to knit up some GIRLIE stuff!!!! hehe Either way, I will be knitting some baby stuff...LOL!!! I can't wait!!!

OHHH Goodness, I hope so!!! The weather has been on the mild side and I am hoping it only gets better... We are suppose to get some nasty rain this weekend but I will take that over ICE!!!!

I have been knitting... I PROMISE!!!! I have been knitting a baby dress for a girlfriend and the "We call them Pirates" hat. I also have been knitting on a sock.

I did buy a skein of Blue Moon Fiber Arts "Foo Foo" the other day.. I cannot wait to get that in... It was shipped so I should get it very soon!!!!

Don't you LOVE this handsewn drawstring sock bag!!!! Guess who made it??? Not ME!!! ROFL!!! My dearest mother has been making a TON of these!!!! I think Plumpy is a little jealous since I have been teasing her about it... I think on of these little cutey patooties are in her future REAL SOON!!!! My mom is going to start selling these puppies!!! She also has made me a knitting needle holder!!!! I will have to get a picture of that too!!!! The sock bag is reversible!!! I just LOVE it!!! She has made smaller ones and bigger ones!!!!

We are planning on going to some LYS to gawk at some yarn this weekend!!! I cannot wait!!!! I think I am having withdraws with fondling some yummy yarn!!!

Where is SPRING!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I am so done with this weather... It is 13 degrees out right now!!! Yesterday we had some type of warm front for 4 hrs... It was like almost 60 degrees and then it dropped down to the single digits... What is that all about!!!!

I have been depressed about the weather and so my pick-me-up has been knit shopping for yarn and other things... ROFL!!!! What better way to make yourself feel better... I just received my Socks that Rock "Lagoon".... I LOVE how this feels.. I am trying to figure out what pattern I am going to use.... BUT, that is not all!!!! I still have my Lisa Souza Valentine sock yarn that I will be starting before that..

Plumpy and I had a couple of free hours to spare before our boys came home early from school. We went up to our LYS and bought some yarn.... ROFL!!!! (See what I mean) I bought my first skein of Trekking and Wendy and I will be doing the same pattern for this project.. YEAH!!!! I also bought some Regia yarn in pink and black to start some mittens!!!! I can't wait to start on some mittens.

I tried to find the FOLK MITTENS book at Borders and the LYS but I did not have any luck... I did have luck on Ebay yesterday and bought a brand new book for $14... What a STEAL!!!! I think Plumpy is JEALOUS!!! I had to rub it in last night!!! I think both of us will be taking advantage of this book together...

My Knitpicks Options needles should be any day now and I am waiting patiently (not really) to dive into them... I cannot wait!!!!

SPRING is COMING SOON!!!!! What a relief!!! I had to drive through what looked like a BLIZZARD today for about 15 minutes... By the time I got to work it was OK... I am so looking forward to Spring being right around the corner...

I finished one sock and the 2nd sock I am at the heel flap... They will be done very soon so I can start on my Valentine Socks... I bought some Little Devil from Lisa Souza and it is ready to start my socks.... YEAH!!! I cannot wait to start some socks with this yarn.. It is sooo vibrant RED that I cannot wait...

I finished my Hoodie Shrug... It is in the process of being blocked... Pictures to come shortly... It might be gifted to my sister...hehe

On some good news!!! My Knit Pick Options needles are in transit to my house!!!!! YEAH!!!! I cannot wait to use these... I have heard some really good reviews and I am looking forward to knitting with them...

I took a break last night from knitting my sock and started reading Mary Janice Davidson's book called "Sleeping with the Fishes". It is definitely an EASY read... I don't know about you but an easy read to me is the spacing between lines on a page... I will not buy a book if the lines are so close together that it is hard to read... (I know, I have my hang-ups....ROFL!!!) James Patterson is my all time favorite author because his chapters are short and the spacing on his pages are very easy to read... I love Mary Janice Davidson's Undead Series. The Harry Potter book will be out this summer... I am looking forward to this book but then I am not... The series has so much potential to keep going... It SUCKS!!!!

The Purple People Eater Sock!!!

I have put down my shrug hoodie again to start on something else... I just wish I didn't have Attention Deficit Knit Disorder (AKA "ADKD") I am almost done with the darn hood and I just get bored...

So, I started on this sock!!! I am really liking the sock.. It is thicker than what I have knitted with in the past but it is definitely WARM!!!! The cold weather that we are about to feel this weekend in the Midwest will definitely push me to finish the second one FAST!!!!

I have been dreaming about SOCK YARN!!!! Does that mean I am obsessed???? I bought some Lisa Souza Yarn this week!!!! It is the Little Devil!!! I think it will be wonderful to knit with next month for Valentine's Day!!!!

I already have my eyes set on some other's I want... I want some Socks that Rock yarn too!!!! OHHHH!!! I can't get started on talking about socks...hehe I will talk all day..

No other knitting news besides the socks!!! I guess there will be more socks to come in the future. No other patterns have really stood out to me... I usually have tons of patterns that I am dying to knit... I am hoping that some wonderful Spring patterns come out in the next month or so... I am gonna keep my fingers crossed..

I truly have been working on my knitting projects!!!! I have, really!!!! I finished a Brea Bag from Berroco and it came out adorable... It is on the small size but still very cute!!! I did it in the Charcoal Tweed from Bernat... The yarn is very hard to photograph...

I also finish seaming my hoodie shrug and have been working on the hoodie part. I am hoping I will finish the hood and then do the 8 rows of ribbing and be DONE!!!!! I will say this, Raglan was not my friend in all of this but I did get the hang of seaming the arms and sides up... If I do another sweater project I know it will not be Raglan... I might tackle that again some other time...

I have seen so many eye candy sock yarn lately that my mouth is just drooling thinking about it... I have a couple of skeins of yarn that I will be ordering VERY SOON!!!! It was my Birthday Wednesday and Hubby said that I could order my Knit Picks Option needles.... YEAH!!!! He asked me if that is REALLY what I wanted.... LIKE, DUH!!!! So anyway, I will be ordering them as well!!!! I guess some socks are in my future...

I cannot wait to start on something else... I will be happy when the shrug is off the needles!!!!

It looks like we will be getting some accumulation this weekend... The meteorologists don't even want to say what we will be getting....LOL!!!! I guess with all the ice we just got last week... I hope we get SNOW!!!!! We WANT SNOW!!!! Not ICE!!!! Whatever it is I will be cuddled up under a blanket with some needles!!!

My Hoodie Shrug is knitted up!!!!

I am finished with the knitting of the Hoodie Shrug but it has to be seamed.... OH NO!!!! This girl has never seamed a sweater before... Plumpy said that she would help me get it done... I haven't decided if I want to do the hood or do a long ribbing around the front and around the neck and be done with it.... LOL!!! All I can say is that even though I am a week shy of finishing my sweater for 2006 it is still a wonderful feeling.. WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!! I am so proud of myself right now... I just don't want to get down about the seaming... I hate not knowing how to do something....

To take my mind of the shrug, I started knitting the BREA BAG.... Now, I am almost done with the Front and Back pieces but I still have to make the gusset... I have to say that the picture of this bag is deceiving....LOL!!!! It looks a lot bigger in the picture.. I read the pattern last night and I am right about the correct gauge and the measurements are accurate but the picture makes the bag look so much bigger... OH WELL!!! It will be my first FO of the year!!!! I did it in the charcoal tweed from Patons... It is kind of hard to see the pattern but I wanted to be able to use this bag anytime...hehe (Yes, this bag is going to be for me!!!) I would take pictures of it but my camera is not at home... boohoo.... I promise that I will take pictures of it Monday...

I plan on going to JoAnn's Monday and picking up a leather strap for it...hehe

I have forgotten how fun it is to make bags.... I think more will be in my future...hehe

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I hope everyone stayed safe in their adventures of bringing in the the NEW YEAR!!!! We had a very nice time at my sister's house with family and friends. For the past 2 years, I have been able to celebrate the New Year with Hubby... He usually works on New Year's Eve night!!!! It has been nice to be able to spend it with him... We watched Jackass 2!!!! OK, usually I cannot stand stupid movies like that but it was really funny... (I truly feel sorry for their parents!!!! ROFL) They are way TOO EXTREME for my taste and I hope and pray that my rambunctious boys do not do stupid stuff like that!!!! LOL

New Year's Resolutions are not for me besides with "KNITTING"... I don't make goals that can potentially be broken and then I feel like a Failure. Knitting is a different story when it comes to goals... In 2006, I promised myself I would do my first sweater... WELL, I did not finish my hoodie shrug yet but it is almost finished... I feel like it will be a TRUE accomplishment when it is finished..

For this YEAR:
Designing my own patterns is really a passion for me!!!! Since I started knitting, I have drawn many pictures of some designs that have not hit the needles... I am hoping this year that I can maybe knit up a few.

HATS and SWEATERS in my own designs.

My second challenge will be learning how to become great at color work... I have been wanted to do some color work for a very long time... The Norwegian designs for hats and mittens intrigue me. I will definitely be doing this in the VERY NEAR FUTURE!!!!

This year will be granted to "GIFTING"!!!!! I will not say ALL because I have to make a few items for myself (hehe) but the MAJORITY of the items that I knit will be for others. I plan on making a list of items that I will knit for the month or quarter. (Depending on what the projects are going to be.) I might even throw in some charity knitting...

BLOGGER!!! I plan on making the experience on my blog more ENJOYABLE!!!! ROFL!!!! I am really not that boring in life....hehe MORE PICTURES, ILLUSTRATIONS, SITES that have wonderful tutorials and patterns. More posts that have substance.....LOL!!!! AND, maybe some FREE patterns in the mix of it all!!!! I have 3 or 4 patterns that I have done but have not posted...

And Last but not Least: Knitting is a PASSION and I hope to share my passion with others that are willing and wanting to learn.. I love teaching others how to knit. It brings me so much joy to see others feel the same way as they finish a knitted item. In the past 2 months, I have taught 7 people to knit.... What a JOY!!!!

Long time No see!!!!

Well Christmas is over and the NEW YEAR is almost here!!!! LOL!!! I have been so busy lately that I haven't been able to post. I finished my Hello Kitty Dishcloth and have the pattern done... I just have to type it out to share with anyone that is as crazy as I am over that little feline....hehe

I have kind of down in the dumps with my knitting lately... I have been cranky about every pattern that I have looked at and every project that I have knitted on... I 3/4 of the way done with my 2nd sleeve with my hoodie shrug... I am just intimidated over the WHOLE seaming part that I don't want to finish it... CUZ that means that I would have to start seaming....

Plumpy thinks that I need to go YARN shopping... All of my bins that have yarn in them are not inspirational. I think I need some NEW yarn and some ideas for something that catches my eye to knit... All these patterns lately have not been interesting... I think I need something challenging. Plumpy got me some Yarn for Christmas but of course I cannot find the right needles to knit with it right now.....grrrrrr My birthday is coming up and I definitely know what I want for my BIRTHDAY!!!! That might be another reason why I am so CRANKY!!!!! The BIG 3-0 is in a couple of weeks... I am not ready to leave my 20's right now....boohoo!!!!

If anyone has any ideas to get me out of my slump, let me know... Help a Girl out!!!!

Well, I had a brainy idea that I would take a stab at making my own dishcloth pattern... Talk about some writing...LOL!!! I really don't like doing charts, so I wrote out the pattern by hand... I am almost done with the mock-up to see if it is going to work or not... I will post the pattern when I have it done... The blue cotton yarn was the only solid color I had.

I plan on trying it with a light pink... Isn't she cute!!! Wish me LUCK!!!! I am praying that she will come out!!!! I looked all over for a Hello Kitty Dishcloth pattern like this and I came up empty handed... So, what better way to get the pattern juices flowing....LOL!!!!

I am being coerced into coming up with a pattern of some sort.... I won't mention any names....hehe (PLUMPY) She knitted her fingers to the bones for the deadline to the sweater she created... That poor girl has been under some major stress... I am so happy for her and proud that she finished her OWN PATTERN!!!!! I have my own pattern that I have been dying to create but I am doubtful I could have it done in a month... Slow poke me!!!! I don't do well under stress...

Is everyone done shopping for the Holidays!!!! BAH HUM BUG!!!! to shopping!!!!! I am not remotely finished and have NO AMBITIONS for it either... I will get it done one way or another....

Pictures of the Ice!!!!

Here are some pictures that I took yesterday of the Ice melting off the trees... I did take a picture of my tree that is down also.
When I get enough nerve to go outside, I will take the picture of the uprooted part... Hubby had a funny yesterday... He told me that he is going to put a sign up buy the tree saying, "NEED HELP STANDING TREE UP!!!!" ROFL!!! He said that it looks like you could plop it right back in the hole and it would be OK.

I think he is trying to get out of cutting it up... Which I don't blame him....LOL!!!!

I am so happy that Plumpy has electricity. My mom and dad and Aunt are still without... boohooo!!!! I am hoping that it will come one today or tonight some time...
I am so mad at myself... I gave my niece the hat last night and forgot to get pics. So, the next time I see her I will take some pictures...

I knitted on my hoodie for a little bit last night but no real progress...hehe

Icy Updates

Well, it has not gotten any better in the St Louis Area.... boohoo My parents are still without power. They said that it could take up to 5 days to have power restored. The National Guard is out knocking on peoples doors today. I can't remember the numbers but 14 states are coming out to help the electric company. We still have 1/2 million people without power.

Wendy's mommy got powered yesterday afternoon. My Aunt Sherry and Plumpy are still without power... God Love'm!!!

I talked to Wendy this morning and they stayed at their house the first night. Chase and her were huddled in her bed under the covers... She was knitting away on a hat...hehe I wonder why.... Last night she stayed at our aunts that had a little generator. She said that she was still cold and didn't get much sleep... Poor thing!!! She went back this morning to get some clean clothes and found that ALL of her fish were FROZEN!!!!

My parents I think have had enough of the cold and decided that tonight they are staying in a nice warm bed at my sister's house. They have a fire place but they were waking up every hour to keep wood on... They have been cooking on camping gear and I think they have left their pride at the door step. They want a warm bed. (which I don't blame them)

I will have pictures of the beautiful scenery that has turned our town upside down shortly. My batteries are waiting to be charged.

I knitted a hat for my niece today... I will have pictures of that also. I took a break from my hoodie for now because I am very close to running out of yarn. I am working on both of the sleeves. I am thinking about starting another hat for my nephew but I haven't decided what I want to do.. I have a tree to decorate also... The Tree is up but nothing is on it....ROFL!!!! I don't have any ambitions to do anything right now... I have laundry galore downstairs but it is COLD down in the basement....brrrrr!!!!

I will keep you all updated on the power situation with Plumpy... I am praying that it will come on SOON!!!!

Winter Warning!!!!!

For Heaven sake!!!!!! I wish I had my camera to show you the unfortunate looking scenery that we have right now. We had ALL DAY /Rain/Sleet/Freezing Rain/Sleet/Freezing Rain/Snow... We have trees down everywhere. Power lines are down everywhere. My parents have been out of electricity since 11pm last night. Mind you, it is 20 degrees right now...

Last night might have been one of the scariest situations that we have went through in quite some time. Branches were so heavy from the freezing rain that they were breaking everywhere. Our electricity was flashing on and off all night. It was about midnight and we finally laid down to go to bed and heard CRACK/CRACK!!!!! I yelled my hubby's name and he said, "MOOOOVE!!!!" We ran out of our bed!!!! What a trip... We went to go look at what it hit... It was one of our big Maples that lost one of the biggest branches on our self standing garage... Whoooooahhhh!!!!!

I finally fell asleep... My hubby got up this morning to tell me that he couldn't sleep last night because he kept on hearing branches breaking everywhere!!!! I get out of bed to make some coffee and look out my kitchen window... What do I see????? One of our HUGE OAK TREES came tumbling down last night. It almost hit a truck that was parked in our yard that couldn't get up a hill... Luckily, the tree hit another tree and missed the truck. Three families up the road from us was not so lucky. 3 houses were hit by OAK TREES!!!! 500,000 people are without electricity this morning. In our town alone there is almost 8,000 people without power. It is like 20 degrees out right now.....

The NEWS said that we had 2.9 inches of accumulations of precipitation. They said that if we would have had snow, it would have been 30 inches of SNOW!!!!!! I would have taken the snow!!!! Ice is no fun!!!!

When I get my camera, I will give you all pictures of the weather...

Cropped Hoodie Shrug

I have been working like a horse on this thing...hehe It will definitely need to be blocked... I am loving this yarn and how the tweed looks with this pattern... I will finish the front and start on the sleeves... The only thing else left will be the hoodie... YEAH!!!! My gauge was right on the money but it looks a little small... I will be royally ticked if this thing does not fit.....ROFL!!! My sister has been eyeing it up for a week now... I guess if it doesn't become a staple in my closet then I guess it could be a GREAT Christmas present....LOL!!!

This is the first time I have done anything that had a Raglan pattern to it... It has been a little challenging but nothing I could not figure out... I have so many other things I would love to start but I promised myself that I would finish this one...LOL!!!!

We went out on Black Friday and EVERYTHING went smooth... The deals were really not there this year unless you were buying BIG TICKET items (Big Screen TV's or Computers) My son almost got a BRIGHT PINK Razor Scooter for Christmas... I am so thankful that I looked in the box... I exchanged it at Target and bought another one. I didn't buy much... I am not an impulse buyer when it comes to Christmas buying!!! Can you believe that!!!! I really had to think if I needed that present RIGHT NOW!!! Now YARN is definitely a weakness with impulse buying but don't tell anyone!!! SHhhhhhh!!!!

It is so funny to see myself knitting.... A couple of years ago, I would have NEVER imagined myself being in a life-long craft that has been around for centuries!!!!

It seems like I am always trying to explain myself to others that don't knit....ROFL!!!!

The BIGGEST question is: "Why knit a pair of socks when it is more convenient to go buy a pair????""" WHAT!!!!! Sometimes I tell them, " YOU just don't get it!!!!" Yes, I can buy a pair of those white pair of socks at the Local store for A LOT cheaper than knitting up a pair.... BUT, your tootsies don't look as cute as these....ROFL!!!!! It is kind of like a PEDICURE!!!! Your feet and tootsies look so much sexier with Polish...hehe Our feet take the BRUNT of everything we do... Why not take care of them and surround them by GOODNESS!!!! Yes, my feet have the right to sport around some hand-crafted, high dollar, yummy threads!!! They deserve it since I put them through A LOT!!!

DON'T misinterpret what your feet really want.. Women can be frugal with somethings but there are other things you have to splurge...hehe I can be frugal when it comes to clothes shopping but shoes, purses, and my hair are my things I splurge on... There is nothing like shoe shopping or paying a little extra for a purse that is going to last... Of course, my HAIR!!!! I am soooo picky and the only person that can deal with me is my FAMILY!!!! ROFL!!!!

Anyway, since the weather is changing to "DOWN RIGHT CHILLY"!!!!! I can't go around bare foot so my feet have to sport my hand-crafted sockies...hehe

I haven't had much time to knit on my socks lately because I have been knitting my Cropped Hoodie shrug.... YUMMY!!!! I will finish my opal socks soon... We have a couple of days off and so that might be a perfect time to get them finished...hehe

Scarf Season is Here!!!!

Ok, the scarf season is here to stay. Only the memories of nice warm weather is in the back of my mind.... I should be upset (which in a way I am)... But, I have found a new love for this Bow Knot Scarf...hehe The pattern is SUPER EASY!!! I finished this real pale pink scarf that is scrumptious. It is SUPER SOFT!!!! I wanted to make a hat with it but decided to do a panta... The Winter does not like my hair and the static is horrendous... I usually keep it in a pony tail when I have a bad hair day... A hat really won't cut it... I can't wait for the Panta to be done... It will be a cute pair... I plan on making some more of these scarves but with some suede yarn or a nice super soft wool... ( I haven't decided yet...hehe)

I have been knitting on my Pepto Pink sweater that is quite LARGE... I gauged and everything but when I started this I was about 20lbs heavier too... The stockinette stitch is sooooo boring and so I have to do a little here and there.... I am up to the arms... I might get some done on it this weekend...

We are having a KNIT OUT for beginners this weekend at my mom's house!!!! We have about 10 girlies that want to learn to knit... How exciting is that!!!! Knitting is sooooo addicting... Especially when you see all the GREAT things you can knit up... Can't wait!!! We have 4 girls that know how to knit... Plumpy will be helping me!!! We are going to have our hands FULL!!!!

It might be the weather!!!! They are saying that we might get some flurries today.... WHAT THE HECK!!!! The last couple of days have been in the 70's and now it is like 37 degrees today.... PLEASE Mother Nature, MAKE UP YOUR DARN MIND!!!!!

I had to work today and I am totally bored cuz no one wants to get out today in this COLD weather....hehe!!! Hubby and boys took a road trip to Kansas today and I was stuck holding down the fort... YEEEHAAAA!!!!!

Anyway I took some pictures while I had NOTHING TO DO!!!!! I am knitting up another pair of socks with some OPAL yarn... The pattern is DK Gentlemen... I just love this pattern!!!! I love how the Opal is looking with this pattern...hehe can't wait to wear these puppies!!!!

I also took some recent pictures of me since the picture on my profile is like 2 years old... GAWD, I look so young in that picture!!!! SHHHHHH!!!! MY 30th birthday is coming up very soon... I am not adjusting very well to thinking that my 20's are at an end.... WHERE the Heck does time go when you blink your eyes... My boys turned 7 this year and I am turning.... WELL you know... I am not ready to admit that I am going to be that number... I hope that it will be a great decade for me......

Anyway, I am going to update my profile with my mug... My hair is getting so LOOOONNNGGG!!!! My Auntie wants it to grow out to my behind.... My hubby and my aunt have schemed up this plan together... Hubby said that he has divorce papers waiting for me if I cut my hair... What the heck is that about....ROFL!!! My aunt refuses to take the scissors to it unless it is for a trim... Which is maybe 1/2 inch to an inch every 12 weeks... Can I hold out???? I don't know!!! It is hard waking up to having sweaty arm pits because your hair is nessled under your arms looking OHHHH SO LOVELY!!!! I scare away the Gremlins from the foot of the bed... I scare myself waking up and seeing that sight.... ROFL!!!! It is to the point now that my hair is put up on top of my head looking OHHH SO SEXY!!!! hehe Oh Well!!! I guess I can live...

(Just a tip: If you want your hair to grow fast or your nails..... TAKE BIOTIN!!!!) It is a miracle vitamin that will make your hair grow and keep it healthy and strong. It also does the same for your nails..

My son has lost his 2nd front tooth!!!! Is he adorable or what!!! I have been teasing him the past couple of days and making him say.... "SLIPPERY SLOPE".... ROFL!!! I am soooo MEAN!!!!

Do you see a resemblance of a facial body part???? The poor kid got his MOTHER's NOSE!!!! Poor baby!!! We can drown in the rain together I guess!!!! ROFL!!!

Have you ever knitted so much that your fingers and thumbs hurt??? I am having that problem right now...LOL

I finished my bow tie style scarf this weekend!!!! I wasn't for sure about it at first because it is really not my type of scarf but after putting it on, it is really cute!!!!! I hate having to go dig my scarf out of my coat to stay warm...hehe I will definitely be making some more of these...

I am making some Convertible Mittens that are hand warmers and the mitten goes on top... LOVE them!!! I am a little intimidated by the pattern but I am going to trudge on and see if I can do it... I am doing 2 at a time on seperate needles so I won't get bored with doing another one while a mitten is sitting there with no hand in it...hehe

My hubby just laughed at my scarf last night and told me I was a fruit-ball... I was in my pj's and walking around the house with my ribbed hat and scarf on....hehe "You Gotta Love Me"...LOL

I have another hat and scarf I am looking at starting after my mittens are done... I think I am going to switch it up and do some browns and teals together... I LOVE that COMBO!!!

It is rainy and yucky here today.. Perfect day to knit...hehe

The weather has put me in the knitting hat and scarf mood lately... My poor ears are sick of being COLD!!!!

I know, I know, I know... It is PINK!!! I just can't help it... One of these days I will get out of the pink stage...

My hair is getting so long that most of the time it is up in a pony tail and so my little ears get nippy.. I can't wait to wear my hat with my hair down...hehe The scarf is just a ribbed scarf that will go with it... I will be making convertible mittens to go with... The yarn is the cheapy Red Heart called Candy Prints... I just love these colors..

My sockies have been on the back burner since my head has been cold...LOL!!!!! I have found TONS of hats I want to knit up...

Goodness, Has it been that LONG???

Trust me I have been knitting!!!! I finished my brown/blue socks... I love them!!! Of course, since it is Socktober Fest I started on a new pair... Grrrrr!!! I can't show the progress because I forgot my USB thingy at home.... boohoo!!!! I am doing a pattern for a sock... First time of doing a pattern for a sock... I am one of those people that like anklets and so there is no need to find ones with patterns...

BUT, the yarn I am using has some awesome colors and I wanted to show them off with something different.. It has Red, maroon, all different pinks, a little brown, some gray, and purple... Talk about some COLORS!!!!!

Mog's had her NEW Mary Jane CROC's on her blog and I just fell in love with them... I will be picking me up some very shortly... I think they will go perfect with my NEW SOCK COLLECTION...

OK, This weather in Missouri has went from 80 degrees to 40 degrees!!! What is up with that???? I hate cold weather.. The only thing that I like about it is I can knit more and get away with knitting with some beautiful wool... YUMMY!!!!!

I have some exciting developments coming along...hehe I am making a swatch and doing some measurements for a project that I have drawn up. One of many patterns I have in this little brain... I cannot wait to start on this project.. I have to get some calculations before I start but I don't think that will take too long.

It is going to be a pattern that I have NEVER seen done yet and I cannot wait to spill the beans... Come check back for what I have up my sleeve...hehe

2nd Brown/Blue Sock is heading to Completion

I just picked up the gusset stitches and are about to start the decreases... I cannot wait to finish these little jewels!!! I will be going to Louisiana this weekend and will have plenty of time on the trip down there to work on these lovely socks!!! I have other sock yarn calling my name and so I would like to finish these socks this weekend...hehe

I think I have gotten pretty good at working my own sock pattern... I think my next step will be a sock pattern that I have had my eyes on for awhile...hehe

Since Socktoberfest starter, I have had tons of sock yarn on my brain!!!! But, I promised myself that I would not buy anymore until I finished up 2 more pairs of socks...LOL!!! I hope I can keep my promise!!!

Plumpy and I are challenging ourselves and looking for a pattern that we can work together...hehe I love knitting something together... It helps motivate each other to finish the project... We work so well as a team!!!!

Welp, back to looking at patterns for our next project!!! LOL

Well, one of my brown/blue socks are finished!!!! YEAH!!!! But, it is a bummer that my second one is not finished yet... To break up the monotony I found a really cute MINI sock that I had to try out!!! It was on the new patterns from Knitting Pattern Central called Itty Bitty Sock pattern... I flubbed a couple of things in the pattern because I was lazy and did not want to go through the 5 toe decreases but it looks the same... SOOOOO CUTE!!!! I had to use DPN's!!! YUCK!!!! Next time I will never run out of toothpicks... It would have been a lot easier to do this tiny sock... I think I might make some more!!!! The tiny socks would be cute for keychains or an embellishment to a knitter's card....LOL!!!!

Wannabe Sock War Warrior

ROFL!!!! Talk about INSANE!!!! You all have MORE courage than I do... I have been keeping track of status on the forum for PLUMPY... She diligently knitted until her fingers fell OFF yesterday... She did not even touch the computer but for a 5 minute break... I probably should have participated but I am doing just fine knitting on my socks at my own leisure....hehe

I think the evil side will show itself within the next couple of days on how people react to being assassinated. Those of you sending NICE gestures and goodies to your opponent while killing them off is sweet...

Anyway, my blue/brown sock is coming along... I just wish I had an extra 2.5 needle to have the other one started so I can wear them as soon as possible... Cute/Cute!!!!

The weather has been dreary!!! We were hit in the Midwest by this Land Hurricane!! (It looked like one from the radar) Lots of Tornadoes and wind damage in surrounding areas. I wonder if Mother Nature is trying to tell us that WINTER is right around the corner. If it was in the dead of Winter, they said it would have been ONE ENORMOUS SNOW STORM!!!! I live in the wrong part of the country. I have to admit that I cannot stand the COLD or WINTER!!! The only thing that keeps my hopes up is the WOOL projects that you can't stand to touch in the summer will slowly come out of hibernation...

I am so ready to start knitting hats/scarves/mittens and of course SOCKS!!!! I have also thought about Christmas gifts...hehe Can't ever be too early on knitting gifts.

Well, October is right around the corner. I thought about making some washcloths for the teachers. Wrap them around a sucker with a bow. Something special for the boys' teachers.

I think you all know what this washcloth is. I just love this pattern. It is finished and and waiting for a new home or to be used. After finishing the first one, it was a lot easier to follow the pattern...hehe
The next one is my Pink Sweater that I have been working on... I am getting to the point where I will starte the decreases for the arms... YEAH!!!! I am probably going to change the arms and make it my own... I love a flare arm and so we will see how it will come out.... I have been knitting a couple of rows here and there to stay active and not put it away to build dust... I want to wear it darnit... It is getting CHILLY in Missouri!!!!!

I just turned the heel on my brown and blue sock and will be picking up the gusset stitches.... YEAH!!!! The next pair of socks will be on the needles VERY shortly!!!!

So GUESS what today is????? PICTURE DAY!!!! I have been knitting like crazy!!!! mostly socks and I am getting some progress with my sweater.

DK Weight Socks that I absolutely LOVE!!!!

The yarn is called Baby Soft from Ben Franklin. I did these socks on size 4. The sock is a thicker sock and will be perfect on those hardwood floors this Winter!!!!

OK!!! I have to say that these are my all time favorite right now.. It was done on 2.5 needle. The yarn is Regia... I have wore these a couple of times already!!!! I love them!!!!

The Simply Lace Sock is being FROGGED!!! I love how it was looking until I started to do my decreases. I was using Red Hearts Sport weight and I just DO NOT like how it feels... YUCK!!! The yarn will have to be used for a HAT!!!!! I will do this pattern with a different type of yarn...

This is my next sock I am working on.....hehe I LOVE IT!!!! I love the colors.. I think it will be great with jeans... But, it has been on the back burning lately since I have been working on my sweater... They are anklets, so it will be nothing for them to be whipped off the needles...LOL

Well, I was going to post up 3 more pictures but blogger doesn't like me!!!! I will post my sweater and my other dishcloths that I have made later today...

Where O Where is my Digital CAMERA????

I think my hubby has successfully misplaced my NEW digital camera... Talk about a little TICKED!!!! I have all these finished projects that have been coming off the needles but NO PROOF to show... GRRRRR... I finished my pair of DK socks last week. Started on another pair of socks with sport weight yarn... It is the pattern from Interweave called Simply Lovely Lace Socks. It is in the same color of my sweater... What??? A girl has to match....ROFL!!! Lately someone has PUKED PINK on me!!!! I can't get away from this fuschia color... It is hard to get away from a color that looks good with your skin tone.. My sweater is moving along quickly on size 11 needles... I think I will be able to wear it sometime this winter...hehe

It has been on the colder side these past couple of weeks... I have been thinking about hats, scarves, sweaters, and Christmas stuff!!! You can never be too early on thinking about knitted gifts...

I found some adorable Christmas stockings that would be great to knit up since I have been on a kick with knitting SOCKS!!!! We will see..hehe

Well, I hope I don't have to call the detectives in to find my darn camera... If I find it I will have one hellacious picture day...

The day in the life of MOTHERHOOD!!!!

Do you ever feel like taking an indefinite VACATION to an undisclosed location???? I have felt like that for WEEKS!!!!! ROFL

The boys started school over a week ago and that has been nice but it seems like my body and mind need to get its act together. I have been run ragged with my husband starting his NEW business and working long hours. Taking care of the house, store during the day, cleaning on the side and so much more that it is depressing to even type about....hehe

The only thing that has calmed my nerves lately is KNITTING!!! Who would have thunk!!!ROFL!!! I finished my green socks. I finished another DK sock and almost finished with the 2nd sock. I started on a SWEATER!!!!! Can you believe it!!!! PLUMPY finally talked me into doing the front and back in the round instead of doing it in pieces. My brain has been so fried that I casted on this sweater about 5 times to rip it out because it did not add up right for the ribbing... NEEDLESS to say, I counted, recounted, and counted again and it was my COUNTING that was WRONG.... ROFL!!! Please laugh at my own expense....hehe

Anyway, I would have pictures for you by now but my hubby hijacked my camera and I have not gotten it back.... GRRRRRR!!!

The sweater is PINK of course... Gosh, I need to find another color of obsession....ROFL!!!!

I have started thinking out my bag for the BAG ME KAL!!!! It will be a color chart of HELLO KITTY!!!! I will see if I can find something easy since colorwork is not my forte. We will see though...

Sorry if I am "Debbie Downer" today...hehe (just thinking about her makes me laugh!!!!) I am hoping I will have some pics to show you and some progress of my sweater... I promised myself this year that I would finish my first sweater...It will get done if this is the only thing I work on.

OK, so I finally broke down and figured out this digital camera... ROFL!!! It has been an eventful last couple of weeks before school starts... ROFL!!! TOMORROW!!! My VACATION BEGINS!!!! LOL The boys are ready and so am I. I know I haven't posted lately... I have been so busy but that has not stopped me from KNITTING... (My only sanity in my life!!!!)

I finally picked up one of my WIP's socks and now I am on the second one... I swear I am going to finish this pair...hehe I love how the colors came out in the yarn... Of course, I live on the WILD side and will not have two matching socks... YIPEEE!!!! LOL!!! I see more socks in my future though... I forgot how fun it is to make socks... BUT, shhhhh I have like 4 pairs started but no finished ones... LOOKS like I will be catching up on some WIP's first...hehe

The next on my list of FO's is the Garterlac Dishcloth... I will say that this little puppy had me stumped a few times...LOL!!! I frogged the whole thing 5 times... I didn't think I was doing it right and I frogged it...LOL!!!! I guess it gave me some practice for next time I do this pattern. I think you definitely have to do a variegated cotton yarn with this pattern to show the squares... LOVE IT!!!

LAST but not LEAST!!!! (I think my favorite...hehe) I love this PATTERN!!!!! I got PLUMPY to try out the pattern...hehe I am such a BAD influence... HAHAHA

So that has been just about it for me lately!!! I started the OH BAG ME KAL this month to find out that I did the pattern WRONG!!!!! GRRRRRR.. I might have to wait to do this pattern some other time.... I NEED quick and simple knits for now...

OK, so I am such a terrible blogger lately!!!! NO PICS!!! I am disappointed in myself...LOL I am working on the BAG KAL for August but I have not gotten too far on that monstrous BAG!!! It will take me forever to get that one done. I have eyed that pattern for a long time but haven't had the motivation to knit it up. I thought since it is a challenge for the KAL, I would try it out...hehe

I don't know about you all but I am FED UP with this 100 degree weather here in the Midwest!!!! It really BITES!!!! It is my twins Birthday today!!!! YEAH!!! LUCKY (7) I can't believe they are getting soooo BIG!!!! It makes me feel my age!!!! ROFL!!! I can remember going into the hospital on July 30th 7 years ago... My water broke 2 1/2 months early... It was a very SCARY situation!!!! Today, 7 years ago I had my boys... 2lbs 10oz and 2lbs 8ozs. It was a very emotional time in our lives!!!! I think many people take for granted a healthy baby... I am sooooo HAPPY that they were fighters and fought through a lot of obstacles. NOW, they are HEALTHY boys with minor effects of being that EARLY. They are TRULY miracles in my book and I thank GOD every day that they are in my life. Ü OK before I am bawling on the keyboard, I will stop...hehe

I don't know if it is the weather or what but I am already looking into doing projects that are for the cooler weather.... ROFL!!!! I am thinking NOW until the end of the year I will be doing socks and some hats and maybe a sweater in my future.

But, for now, I have only been doing that tote and washcloths....LOL

I lost EVERYTHING!!!! Because my dumb butt didn't save my template and all my codes!!! I always learn the hard way!!!! It really really really sucks!!! I have done that before by losing over 1,000 digital pics from a virus because I didn't back them up on a disc.... WHAT a DUMMY!!!!

Anyway, I will slowly but surely get back up and running and have all my links back up... The bad thing is, I went to my blog to look up things.... BOOHOO!!!!

I am so mad at myself right now... I have email blogger with NO response and so I just thought "screw it". I will start over!!!!

AND NOW, HERE I AM!!!! I got a cute Hello Kitty template from this website: Diaphaneity . She has some really cutesy templates... I thought I would plug her blog since she made it so easy for me to get my blog started again.... It will take some time to get all my stuff up but I will take it one day at a time... AND SAVING TOO!!!! ROFL!!! Please laugh at me because I feel like crying right now....LOL!!!

On top of that, MY KNITTING is MIA!!!! I cannot find the bag I was working on for nothing.... What crappy week!!!! AND it is raining.. But, I am OK with the raining.. It cooled off the 100 degree weather... Ü

What a CRAZY WEEK!!!

I am soooo glad it is Saturday. First off I have been babysitting my sister's kids this week. 4 kids in the house!!!! That is enough to make someone insane. ROFL!!! Wednesday we got hit with a TERRIBLE storm in the St Louis area. My boys went to the movies with their grandparents and my hubby was working... I waited out the storm by myself in the basement. YIKES!!! I seen everything from my lawn furniture flying in the neighbors yard to one of my trees getting hit by lightning.... OVER a MILLION people in the area was without electricity. Our neighborhood and main road looked like a WAR ZONE!!! We had electricity.. We are ALWAYS without when a storm hits. I heard a transformer blow up and later found out that it caught a tree on fire. I seen 4 firetrucks parked out by my house... I am thinking, "OMG, is my house on FIRE!!!! I had to run upstairs to make sure everything was alright...

We were one of the few with Electricity. Thursday, I had 2 of my girlfriends without electricity. They brought over their food to put in the freezer and fridge. I had 4 kids, a dog, and 5 adults in the house ALL DAY!!! One of our friends stay the night with her hubby and their 2 BIG BOXERS. When they went to work the next morning, I still had their dogs and mine, and 4 kids on FRIDAY!!!

It is Saturday and the only people in the house is my family....LOL!!! I just need a major break. If you know what I mean...hehe

It had to happen to the St. Louis area at the hottest time of the YEAR. Wednesday it hit 100 degrees and Thursday it was 102. They said it felt like 120 degrees... If you went out, you would see hundreds of cars with animals cooling off in the A/C...

On a better note: my hubby came home to give me a new present...hehe A NEW DIGITAL CAMERA!!!! YEAH!!! It is a Canon of course... He is setting up my USB so I can start downloading pics...YEAH!!! My other Canon is about 5 years old. It still works but the battery dumps fast. It is amazing how digital camera prices have went down... I paid over $500 for my first one 5 years ago. My father thought I was insane at the time for spending that much for a digital camera.....LOL!!! My mom and dad just bought their first digital camera 2 years ago and my sister just bought one last year....LOL!!! I told them after they get one, you will never go back to a regular camera....LOL

Well, Well, Well

It has been awhile!!! I have been babysitting my niece and my nephew all week.. Whoever is in childcare I give them props. I am so not cut out for babysitting....ROFL!!! We are going to try to go to knitting today....ROFL!!! ALL 5 of US!!!! Do you think we will get any knitting done? Probably not!!!!

Anyway, my mom had surgery last week and so we have been trying to take care of her. My DH is starting a NEW business on top of it!!! It has been very busy in our household lately... BUT, believe it or not I have gotten some knitting done. I have been knitting up some wash cloths for one our knitting ladies in our group for her church. I just made a really neat dish cloth the other day called Open Star from Dishcloth boutique. I will have some pics up later after knitting is over.

I also taught myself how to knit backwards. Not something I would want to do all the time but a great little tidbit to know in the future if I do something with entrelac. I would love to make a entrelac tote.

I have also had about 5 minutes a day to read on Lynsay Sands new book, "A Bite to Remember". I am only on like the 5th Chapter but it gives me a little time away from everything.

I am also trying to finish up my Bag for the Bag Me KAL ... We will see if I can get it done... I will also have a pic of that. I am kind of doing it different from the pattern. (I didn't want to do stripes so I am doing a Camouflage variegated yarn with black. I am gonna do the inside orange with an accent orange or funky button. It will go to my niece for Christmas.

I have a bag I really want to knit up. I will probably start on after I am done with the camo bag. The Triangular ... I cannot wait to start on this one.. It seems pretty simple and and such a cute bag.

I promised pictures like a week ago!!! LOL Time flies when you have two little rascals at your side ALL day...hehe Can we go here? or Can we go here?

Summer is so hectic some times with me trying to knit or read or anything of that sort...LOL!!!

So I try to pick easy knits that I do not have to think too much!!!

The twitterpated pattern is so easy. I just added a little diva to the bag to spruce it up. I lined the inside with pink leopard..hehe After hand sewing it in I wish I would have put a pocket in the bag... boohoo!!! But, I will survive...hehe

Another project that I should have had done a long time ago but other knitting has taken priority....LOL!!!! I have always wanted a really cute pattern for a "WATER BOTTLE COZY" with a strap. I have looked and looked and looked for over a year for a FREE pattern that caught my eye. I never found one I liked. I was making those sunglass cozies and came up with my own pattern for the Water Bottle Cozy and this is what I came up with...hehe I am not done with knitting the strap for it but I thought I would show a picture and give the pattern that I made up...

It is for the smaller water bottles seen in the picture but you can always adjust the pattern a couple of stitches for the bigger ones.

Water Bottle Cozy

Cast on 32 stitches

(I knitted mine by the magic loop method but you can do it with DPN's or 2 circulars also.)

Join without twisting and knit until the desired length for the water bottle. I eye balled it and had my water bottle close by.

Use the 3-needle bind off method for the bottom of the cozy.

Row one: Pick up 8 stitches on the side of your cozy. Knit across.

Next row: K2, P4, K2

Repeat theses two rows until you reach the desired length for your strap.

It is a very easy pattern and can be changed for your spin on it.

I am making a felted version also. I hope you understand the instructions. If it is not clear, let me know and I can help out.

Happy 4th of July!!!!

First of all, I want to thank all the war veterans, veterans, and the soldiers out there that keep my family and I safe. I know we take for granted what we do have sometimes. Our family is made up of many veterans and war veterans. Both my grandfather's were in the Army, My father was in the Air Force, My FIL was in the Army, My sister was in the Army, and my BIL was in the Army.

I pay tribute today to the fallen soldiers that have lost their lives in the war against terror. AND, for those have stood up and protected this great Country.

I remember like it was yesterday that my sister was coming home with a 2month old as my BIL was doing 6 months of active duty over in Desert Storm to come home and then go back again for over 2 years. It is so hard on the little ones and soldier's wife to endure being left without a spouse. It is unspeakable not to worry about a loved one in harms way.

Sunday evening, we sat back and watch my BIL and DH set off fireworks. It was interesting to hear from my dad and my sister that some of the fireworks that we shoot off on the 4th sound like some of the missiles that are used in combat.

My DH's brother's birthday is today and his son's birthday is tomorrow. We will be celebrating their birthdays with a BANG!!!!'

On Knitting : I have been working on a purse that is soooo easy and trying to write out the pattern to my water bottle cozy.

The pattern that I am working on now is called:Twitterpated Purse

It is the easiest pattern I have done for a purse. I decided to spruce it up with some bangles on the top of the purse. I was kind of scared to use them at first but they were easy to include in the pattern. It was a little time consuming to do at first until I got use to it.

Have you ever sat there finishing a project to have a light bulb go off in your head with a wonderful IDEA??? It has been done before but there are like NO PATTERN for free out there... I am ALL about a FREE pattern!!!! LOL!!!!

Anyway, I plan on finishing the first part of it today and I will give you a sneak peek of it!!!! After I am done, I will post a FREE PATTERN!!!!!

We have a challenge in our knitting group that is taking place right now...hehe It is any project done with size 50 needles!!!! Yes, that is right!!!! ~~~5~~~~0!!!! I have something in mind but the yarn I was using was just not cutting it... I didn't think it would be hard to work with those needles but when you are always working on sock needles, it becomes a challenge...>LOL!!!

Yesterday, it was soooo HOT!!!! It got up to 100 degrees but felt like 105!!!! I went down to my mom's house to vacuum her pool and almost passed out!!! I was seeing rainbow colors and had to put my head between my legs....ROFL When that didn't work, I tried to get some water and had to rush to the couch to put my legs over my head!!!! When that didn't work, I went to the bathroom and stuck my head in the VENT!!!! ROFL!!!! That HELPED!!!! So after my little fainting episode I went downstairs in the family room and watched Knitty Gritty!!!! I am too big of a A/C baby!!!!

Thank GOD it will only be 92 today!!!!! ROFL If it doesn't rain tonight we are taking the boys to the Drive-in to go see "CARS"... hehe

OHHH the Rain!!!!

The house was silent this morning until after 9am...hehe It actually was nice to sleep in.. Hubby had to work all weekend and so the boys and I were on the go all weekend... The boys had a T-ball game yesterday afternoon and I thought I was going to die from the heat and humidity... GOTTA LOVE MIDWEST WEATHER!!!! I was drench and so were the boys... The humidity level was horrible yesterday.

After the game it looked like it was going to start raining any minute. We definitely needed the rain last night.. It is still raining, so no swimming today...LOL!!!

I have not been successful enough to knit this weekend because I had to catch up on some books that came out...LOL Poor Plumpy gets a call Tuesday morning to let her know that our MaryJanice Davidson is OUT!!!! Well of course, NO ONE had it out on TUESDAY!!!! I had to go to a Dr's visit Friday and picked it up at B&N and Plumpy picked it up the same day at Borders... She had a coupon...hehe "Little Snot"....

I hate when books are only released once a year in a series....LOL!!!! I try to hold out on reading it so soon so I won't be mad that I have to wait until next year for the next... I really get "TICKED" about the Harry Potter series.... 2 YEARS!!!! COME ON!!!! I have about 10 books on my shelf I have yet to read... Summer time is kind of my laxed time on knitting because I hate sweating and trying to knit so I READ!!!!

I have been working on another felted bag that the color is AMAZING!!!! It is one of the truest BLUES out there...LOL!!!! I just love this pattern... My poor digital camera is HATING me right now or I would have pictures.... BOOHOO!!! We have had a Canon for over 5 years and the battery is about retired.. I have been Digital Camera shopping but I just haven't been able to find the perfect one I want. I love my Elph because it is so compact and we have never went wrong with Canon. I usually watch the Tech show to see the best quality digital cameras but I have not found one that I have fell over about... If it was up to me I would have a REBEL!!!! DANG, those things are $$$$ Pricey$$$$$

So, enough of me crying about my baby...hehe I will sooner or later get me a NEW one....

I think I am going to stay with the smaller project this summer...hehe I think I will be a SOCK girl!!! I made me a sunglass holder out of the cotton yarn since I am always losing my sunglasses. It attaches by a button to your purse.... LOVE IT!!!!

HERE is the PATTERN:

Sunglass Holder
I used size 7 needles with the Sugar and Cream cotton yarn. You can use any yarn you have laying around. I did this pattern with the "Magic Loop" method. It could be modified with DPN's or sewing up the seams. Whichever way you feel comfortable.

Cast on 28 (Place marker and join)

Knit in the round until the holder is long enough for your sunglasses. I knitted 38 rows.(Slide your sunglasses in the holder to guestimate the length.)

Flip the holder inside out and do a 3-needle bind off. 3-Needle Bind Off Instructions

You can add your handles by Picking up 3-5 stitches and knitting Stockinette stitch for the preferred length. On the other side at the end you can make a buttonhole for your closure.

Bind off and sew in seams... How EASY is that!!!!

Mine is attached to my purse so I have easy access to my sunglasses... When I can get blogger to upload my pictures, I will add the photo.

Our Knitting Group!!!!

Well, I finally had a chance to catch our knitters in motion...LOL Well, Plumpy was the photographer.. Next time I will get her in a couple of shots...hehe BEWARE!!!!! Plumpy, I am on a mission...hehe

As you can see our boys were joining us at the knitting group.. It was REAL FUN let me tell you!!!! Wendy and I were ready to pull our hair out after 2 hrs...ROFL

In the second photo, Jackie is in red and Gaye is in the white top. Jackie is the founder of our knitting group. She is a wonderful women with lots to teach... It has been over a month since she has came to knitting. She has been recovering from surgery... She was ecstatic to be there this week...

Joanie is knitting a scarf. We have to get her to break out of her shell and start knitting some socks... Wendy and I will get her to that stage one of these days... She is a hoot to hang out with... We are a little envious at times because Joanie is a taste tester for a company... Wouldn't that be fun!!!!

Us girls kind of take over the coffee shop when we are there.. LOTS of yarn that was being given away. knitting needles, darning needles, DPN, magazines, knitting totes.. YOU NAME IT!!! Jackie is infamous about bringing in Knitting supplies to give away..hehe I never pass up the opportunity for free stuff..hehe

Margaret is on the right. She retired last year as a principal in our school district... I thought retirement was to relax... She is always busy, busy, busy!!! LOL!!! Now, she subs for our schools and teaches as a professor to COLLEGE KIDS ...ROFL!!! She made a yellow shawl for her SIL that showed up a little later. It was so adorable.. We were talking that the pattern would work for a baby blanket... Hopefully, Kathy will wear it sometime in the coffee shop so I can take a better picture.

Most of the time there is more talking and chit chatting than there is really progress in our knitting but we still enjoy ourselves... With a double shot of expresso in our frozen mochas, we talk a million miles a minute...

You can see a little glimpse of me with the blonde hair...hehe I promise to get a better picture...hehe

Today it is NASTY out with RAIN!!!! I am knitting away on a bag for my AUNT!!!! I hope to God I can get it done in time before she leaves...hehe

I have been playing WAY TOO MANY games online lately....LOL!!!! Wendy has me addicted to that Fish Tycoon. I have been playing Cake Mania, Pizza Frenzy, and Roller Rush...LOL!!!!

Anyway, Here are some pictures of my shrug.. Sorry for the head cut off...LOL!!! My battery died when I was trying to get another picture.. It will do for now though...LOL!!! The shrug is a little big for me but I don't care, I LOVE IT!!!! I don't think I will ever do that pattern again but it came out cute...LOL

My purse was under the influence of antibiotics so I had a little flub in it but I am hoping it will fix itself when it is felted...LOL!!!! I still have to weave the yarn ends in...LOL I have another pattern I am working on that is in a DEEP PURPLE!!! It will be so pretty when it is finished... I have to hop on it so I can help Wendy out with the other patterns that have to finished in the next week...LOL

Our family always waits right down to the wire to get things done...ROFL!!! Myself included!!! LOL I guess it is in the Genes...hehe

I wanted to try out the square that Plumpy had finished and I just love how easy it is. It was curling so I had the help of Hello Kitty to show off how the green pops out from the pink... It takes a gazillion little squares to finish a blanket but it is definitely something easy you can take with you and work on in between projects...

I received a WHOLE BUNCH of yarn from Plumpy the other day that would be perfect to make up these squares... These squares might be something I work on in the summer since WOOL is kind of hard to work with in the hot and sticky weather...

Satori "MUG Tagged" me!!!!! hehe What a great idea!!!! My mug, I like to drink my coffee out of is an angel mug that my mom gave me for Christmas... LOVE IT!!!!! I drink strong coffee with cream and some splenda...LOL!!!! Yes, I am a splenda girl...hehe I have been drinking splenda in my coffee for over a year... I never would have thought I would have gotten use to it since sweeteners are YUCKY in HOT beverages... NOW, I can't even drink coffee with regular sugar... I get such a SUGAR RUSH!!!!

I was down at my moms the other day and my sister made me a cup of coffee with sugar and I took the first sip and WHEW!!!!! It was SWEET!!!! I asked her if it was sugar... She said, " YEAH, WHY!!!!" I told her, "I drink it with SPLENDA!!!" ROFL I told her thank you and I drank it anyway but man-o-man was it is SWEET!!!!

SHINGLES and not the ones on the ROOF!!!!! YUCK!!!

I have been battling shingles for the past 2 weeks on my back... YUCK!!!! I only got it a little on my shoulder blade but that was enough to put me in a world wind....LOL!!! I went to the doctor for the first time in 7 years... (Hints....the birth of the twins...LOL!!!!)

It was quite a funny story if you ask me...LOL!!!! On Mother's Day, Wendy&Chase, my Aunt, my mom, my sister, and myself were enjoying a breakfast with our moms...hehe (I thought I had poison ivy on my back) I told my mom and my aunt to look at it to see what they thought... I told them it was BURNING, TINGLING, and itching occasionally.. I showed them and BOTH said, "THAT is SHINGLES!!!!!" (Mind you: we are in a public place... ROFL!!!) Everybody in the restaurant looked at me like I had the PLAGUE!!!!!

I was like, "What the HECK are Shingles???" ( I knew they were something to do with the Chicken Pox but that was all I knew) My Aunt and my mother were lecturing "LIKE MOTHERS" about I need to get into the DR. IMMEDIATELY!!!!! They later told me it was caused by STRESS!!!! WELL, WHOOP-DE-DOO!!!! Stress is my middle name....LOL!!! I have twin boys... I should have had them from the beginning... ROFL!!!!

Anyway, I proceeded to tell them that I had the worse sinus headache (like my eyeballs were about to pop out!!!) and I was having tingling from my back to the top of my head....hehe They lectured me some more...

I went home and looked up EVERYTHING I could on this little nasty thing and found out that it hits your nervous system.... OH YEAH!!!! It can impair your eyesight if not treated quickly... (That is what scared me!!!!)

The next morning I had an appointment with the doctor... I was having shooting pain down my right arm pit and arm...

The Dr. fixed me up with some antibiotics and asked what I was stressed about... I told her nothing more than day to day life...

Well, anyway the antibiotic is another story in itself...LOL I am so GLAD to be off that stuff!!!! It made me sooooo Dizzy, lethargic, sick to my stomach at times, and my motor skills were sooooo off!!!!!

I poked myself in the eye with a mascara brush.. (not the normal way I would do it... Literally stuck the thing straight in my eyeball....) ROFL!!!! No concept of depth I guess.

I had a BEE get stuck in my pony tail and tried to swoop it out and instead I missed my hair and KARATE CHOPPED my NOSE!!!!! I almost broke the darn thing....ROFL!!! It was bleeding and everything....hehe My hubby looks at me and says, "That is one of the stupidest things I have seen you do in a LONG TIME!!!!" WELL DUH, I am loopy on this medicine!!!!!

Anyway please LAUGH at my expense... ROFL!!! I have been laughing at myself for the past 2 weeks...

I have MANY pictures of my projects I have been working on.. I finished the shrug and a bag for my aunt and working on another bag..

I will post my pictures TODAY!!!!! I am so happy with the Shrug!!! I actually got to wear it before it turned 90 degrees..hehe
