Knit Diva

Me and my obsession has come a long way since last couple of years... I definitely still consider myself a beginner and always looking to improve my obsession. I think it is my "CALGON"... It takes me away from my busy life with a wonderful husband and 8yo twin boys... YIKES!!! I never understood how addicting yarn could be until I started knitting.. I have crochet for some time on and off but I never felt attached to it as I do with knitting...

My Valentines Bag!!!

Well I finished putting in the liner of the my Valentines bag and putting the other handle on it!!! I am so proud of myself.. it came out so adorable... I love it!!! i will be making another one of these bags in a different color...

These are so easy to make and not to hard to sew a liner in either... What a great gift idea too!!!!! I have been so in love with Pink lately that I cannot get away from it.. The real neon green color has been catching my eye also... These will probably be colors that you see in a lot of my projects coming up...

I went to my knitting group today and Plumpy taught how to use the Magic Loop for socks today... SOOOOO... I will be starting on my next pair of socks after I am done with my second wristwarmer... This pattern is so easy!!! It is 2x2 ribbing... i will be finished with the 2nd one tonight watching American Idol... ROFL!!!!! They both will be unique
in there OWN way... which is fine with me!!! The second one will be purple blues and lime green... YeAH!!! I can't wait to wear them together...hehe

I have some wonderful sock yarn that I am eying up that I want to find a pattern for... I am going to try the magic loop so wish me luck...

Have a Wonderful Afternoon!!!!

Need a LAUGH!!! LOL

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his Sweatshirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?"
"It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your shirt?"
He yelled back, "University of Oklahoma."

And they say blondes are dumb...

A couple is lying in bed. The man says, "I am going to make you the happiest woman in the world." The woman replies, "I'll miss you..."

"It's just too hot to wear clothes today," Jack says as he stepped out of the shower, "honey, what do you think the neighbors would think if I mowed the lawn like this?"
"Probably that I married you for your money," she replied.

He said - Shall we try swapping positions tonight? She said - That's a good idea... you stand by the ironing board while I sit on the sofa and fart.

Q: What do you call an intelligent, good looking, sensitive man?
A: A rumor

A man and his wife, now in their 60's, were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. On their special day a good fairy came to them and said that because they had been so good that each one of them could have one wish. The wife wished for a trip around the world with her husband.

Whoosh! Immediately she had airline/cruise tickets in her hands.
The man wished for a female companion 30 years younger... Whoosh...immediately he turned ninety!!! Gotta love that fairy!

A PRAYER....

Dear Lord,
I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods.
Because, Lord, if I pray for Strength,
I'll beat him to death.
AMEN

Q: Why do little boys whine?
A: They are practicing to be men.

Q: What do you call a handcuffed man?
A: Trustworthy.

Q: What does it mean when a man is in your bed gasping for breath and calling your name?
A: You did not hold the pillow down long enough.

Q: Why do female black widow spiders kill their males after mating?
A: To stop the snoring before it starts.

Q: Why do men whistle when they are sitting on the toilet?
A: It helps them remember which end they need to wipe.

Q: What is the difference between men and women?
A: A woman wants one man to satisfy her every need. A man wants every woman to satisfy his one need.

Q: How do you keep your husband from reading your e-mail?
A: Rename the mail folder "Instruction Manuals"

Some things I have been working on!!!!!

Well first of all, I have started more projects than I really should have but for some reason I just can't stick to just one project these days...hehe I have all these ideas of patterns I want to try out but I don't know where to start... SO, whatever tickles my fancy that day I work on or start on...LOL!!!!!

I have one more handle to put on my Pepto Pink purse and put the lining in it and then it will be ALL READY for Valentines Day!!!!! YEAH!!! I just love this little purse... It is definitely a keeper for ME!!!!! I have put into consideration that some of these items I should keep for myself instead of giving them away all the time... I think this year is going to be about knitting for ME!!!! After all I do put a lot of hard work into each item I make...What is the point if you can't spoil yourself once in a while...

I have started on my first wristwarmers with this lovely Noro!!! I am so excited about the colorway that I can't see straight... This yarn is kind of mesmerizing... Hypnotic!!!! LOL Love it!!! Love it!!! Love it!!!!

I still have my sweater vest on the needles and my Irish Hiking scarf on the needles but they are kind of waiting for a rainy day...LOL How can you resist when you are working with Noro...hehe

Can you see something different in this picture...LOL YES, DPN's!!!!! I thought I would give them a try since that was on my GOAL 2006 list!!!!! LOL I will have to say that Circ's are so much easier to work with though... But, it is great experience to learn new avenues of knitting...hehe

On another note: My DS went in to the doctor yesterday with an ear infection and a ruptured ear drum... OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Talk about flabergasted and an exhausted night before... Yesterday morning his ear was leaking fluid (For better words) with yucky stuff... I have never seen this happen before... No sign of fever or being sick... He is doing much better and is on a high dose of antibiotic and ear drops... We have to take him back in about 3 weeks to get the ear checked again... We are hoping and praying that there was no hearing loss or damage... The body does miraculous things, so all we can do is pray that it will be OK...

Hope you all have a wonderful Weekend!!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!! LOL

Well, today was a very eventful day to say so myself... I woke up got the boys on the bus and headed to the dreadful License office...hehe My license was DUE today!!! I was there 15 minutes early and there was people already waiting in line outside...LOL

I was only there for a half and hour so not too bad..hehe I won't have to do that again until 2012!!!!! YEAH!!! Thank goodness my picture came out good!!! LOL

I came home for a little bit and went for one of my Birthday gifts.... (PEDICURE!!!!) Thanks to my Aunt Luanne and Wendy (Plump knitter) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Wendy went a long and chit chatted with me as I was in HEAVEN!!!! My tootsies are a pretty pink and have not looked this good in a long time... (You are talking to a girl that only wears sandals or shoes when I HAVE to....LOL!!!!

Me and Plumpy went to Borders and LOOKED at books and of course knitting books and Magazines...LOL We both bought a knitting magazine...hehe We were trying to find the book that Knitting Satori had on her site with that beret pattern and both of us could not think of the name to save our life... ROFL!!!!

Then, after that we went to a LYS that I have yet to go into until now and WE were in HEAVEN!!!! I think we fondled every type of yarn in the store!!!! Woohoo!!!! I grabbed a bunch of yarn but couldn't decide and so I thought it would be best to wait.. Plumpy had 4 skeins of yarn.. 2 were Jelly Beanz that was sooooo cute and soft and 2 skeins of Noro...

LATER, after checking out...... Plumpy told me that this was my birthday gift... WHAT!!!! I actually get to knit with Noro yarn...hehe I have googling over knitting with this yarn but haven't had the opportunity to do so... YEAH!!! Plumpy, YOU are TOO SWEET!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

The Jelly Beanz yarn she got and I can't wait to see what she creates with this yarn...

I also got 2 birthday gifts from my MIL and my mom!!!! YUMMY!!!! I got hot rollers from my mom(which I can't wait to use...hehe) My hair is getting so long I wanted to try out something different with it...LOL I also got some really nice clothes from my MIL. My BIG sis is taking me out to eat this week...YEAH!!! AND, my hubby got me my SONIC EAR!!!!! ROFL Long story...

Lots to talk about!!!!

And..... it will probably take a few entries to get it all in...LOL!!! Even though I haven't been posting much, I HAVE been knitting my little fingers to the bones...hehe

But, on another note... We have added another member to our family this week!!!! I was not thrilled at first but he is very cute in an ugly/cute kind of way... ROFL!!!! A very close friend's daughter was leaving for West Virginia to be with her husband that is in the Army. He was suppose to be doing a tour in Iraq but due to pregnancy complications, they postponed his duty in Iraq. They had a daschund that needed to find a home before she took the trip to her NEW home. I was not ready to take the plunge at another animal in the family yet but he is growing on me.

Last year around this time we had a 150lb American Bulldog. (The love of my life!!!!).. He bit my son Logan in the face (he had to get 8-9 stitches on his cheek and under his eye) and so he had to find a NEW home... ( I still miss him terribly but my children come first!!!!) I still have not gotten over him and so I was not ready for an addition to the family just yet.

Due to the severity of her move, my hubby called her up and told her to bring the puppy over so we could see how he was with the boys... WELL, the boys fell in love with him... OF COURSE then I didn't have a say so in the matter... He is only a year old and he follows Logan around like his little side kick...LOL

His name is "speedy"....LOL How fitting huh??? ROFL
Anyway, I am adjusting...LOL My son Logan begged me and told me that he would never forgive me if I found a NEW home for "Speedy"...hehe My hubby said it would be my own self conscience that I would have to deal with... (Breaking my son's heart!!!) I hate when they can play on my emotions....LOL MEN!!!!! I am so outnumbered!!!!!

On other news, I finished the black ribbed hat and I am working on the Irish Hiking Scarf and a Sweater Vest. The Irish Hiking scarf is very easy on the needles and perfect for someone that just learned to cable...
(I am a pro already!!! So easy!!!!) I have a lot more than what is shown since I took this picture last week with the intentions of posting...LOL Goes to show you how time flies by...

On another note, Our knitting group met on Wednesday at our Local Coffee shop and we all had a group discussion on making 9in squares to build an afghan. We have to make 3 squares a piece in whatever yarn we want and whatever design we decide.. I am excited about it. I am picking out my designs so I can get started..hehe

I also got some Wool Pak from my Aunt Sherry (love her to death!!!!hehe) It is 10ply Oatmeal and it is being knitted up in a sweater vest!!!! I got a pattern from her but I am still a little scared about doing a sweater so I thought I would try something without sleeves for now. ROFL!!!!!

This is the start of the sweater vest. It will have 3 inches of the ribbing and the rest will be in Stockinette stitch... We will see how well it comes out.. Well that is about it in my knitting world...hehe

I cannot believe it was over 60degrees today!!!! It won't be tomorrow which is a bummer...hehe And of course my birthday is coming up and it is going to SNOW/RAIN!!!! It always does one or the other on my Birthday.. It sucks to have a Birthday in WINTER!!!!! LOL

Have a Great Evening!!!

Some Family Photos!!! :-)

WE got some really GREAT pictures on Christmas Eve and I thought I would share our beautiful family... My sister's house is BIG enough to hold a LARGE crowd of family and friends...hehe This picture from L to R is my sister Anika, Wendy(Better known as Plumpy) and myself...

We had so much fun sitting back and watching our 6 kids run around like crazy people while we chit chatted and ate until we felt sick...LOL

I actually sat back and knitted for a bit while the kids opened gifts....LOL!!! Don't get me wrong, I didn't get much done because Wendy and I were talking our heads off!!!! ROFL

Here is another pic of my sis, my mom and me... We had so much fun together!!! Our family definitely knows how to have a good time...hehe We did have a moment of sadness this year at Christmas. This was the first Christmas without both of our Grandparents. My Grandpa passed away January 4 2005. It has been a rough road for the family and beings the last grandparent I had living was very humbling. Our family had many dear to our hearts pass away in 2005. BUT, they will NEVER be forgotten but remembered each and every day!!!

I am so thankful to have such a supportive and closeness to my family!!!!

I have been knitting on and off today... Working on a hat, my purse and learning to cable... Why didn't anyone tell me that cabling was so EASY!!!!! I waited this long to face one of my fears and now I feel like a dork.....ROFL!! Well, I guess I can check mark one thing off my 2006 list of knitting....hehe

I will get a little bit more done on my cabling and I will post some pics..

Enjoy your Sunday evening!!! Ü
