Knit Diva

Me and my obsession has come a long way since last couple of years... I definitely still consider myself a beginner and always looking to improve my obsession. I think it is my "CALGON"... It takes me away from my busy life with a wonderful husband and 8yo twin boys... YIKES!!! I never understood how addicting yarn could be until I started knitting.. I have crochet for some time on and off but I never felt attached to it as I do with knitting...

Crossover Pattern/ Indian Stitch Scarf

I was looking in one of my knitting magazines and found this really pretty stitch. It said it was a Indian Cross Stitch. (Of course the pattern was not in the magazine... figures..hehe) So my investigating skills went-a-crackin'.... hehe

I find a pattern for a scarf from the DIY site. Cross Over Scarf It is so pretty that this will be my next project after I finish my second ribbed hat... I have another one that my hubby is begging me to make.. The one I made for my son he stole for the time being....LOL!!!! After my Digital camera is fully charged I will take some pictures of them.. They are so cute... I am thinking that I will probably be making me one as well..

Let me know what you all think of this scarf.. Who is participating in Plumpy's Secret Santa???

WELL Black Friday was a day to REMEMBER!!!!

Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Holiday. We had a nice quiet day to eat and lounge around and knit...hehe We went to my moms house for Thanksgiving most of the day and then headed to my FIL's house on our way home. (They live across the street) After we were done there my MIL (That brave soul....ROFL!!!) Decided to take 5 of her Grandsons (NO GIRLS on hubby's side...LOL!!!!) for a sleepover... We hit a couple of friends house and landed over at Hubby's Best friends house playing scrabble and watching Batman Begins. Needless to say we did not get home until after 1am.

I woke up 20 minutes before 4am and headed down to my mom's house for the annual CRAZY DAY!!!! Talk about CRAZY!!!! We were at Walmart 15 minutes before 5am and the Supercenter was Packed with NO PARKING!!!! We trudged in and found ourselves in a Chaotic mess....LOL!!!!

There was no place to move and bumper to bumper with carts. People throwing TOYS and other objects EVERYWHERE!!! Well I got myself in a bind where the cabbage patch kids and the Carebears were. I was waiting patiently for the people to clear out so we could move and all of a sudden I am hit behind with a cart 3 times.. (Mind you I have had 2 1/2 hrs of sleep) I turn around and say EXCUSE ME!!!!!!! This lady is trying to push me along with her cart. She has the nerve to tell me that she is trying to get through here... At that time the sleep deprived and deranged maniac came out... I told here, "WHAT DO YOU THINK "WE" ARE ALL DOING, STANDING AROUND FOR OUR LOOKS!!!!!!!!!"

She then rolls her eyes at me and has the nerve to say, "THAT OLD GUY UP THERE NEEDS TO MOVE OUT THE WAY SO I CAN MOVE THROUGH!!!"

At that time people started to see that WE were READY to HAVE it OUT!!!!!

I turn around and look her dead in the eyes (thinking to myself that I am about to go to jail for kicking the day lights out this chick) and told her, "DON'T YOU THINK IF HE COULD MOVE ALONG WE WOULD NOT BE HERE!!!! JUST CHILL OUT AND WAIT YOUR TURN!!!!

She then proceeds to hit me again with her cart and tries to move my cart out of the way.. I grab ahold of her cart and push it back. I told her, "DON'T YOU DARE HIT ME AGAIN WITH YOUR CART!!!!"

The nice lady in front of me that was trying to go the opposite way said to me, "Sweetheart, I have been trying to make room for you so you can go..." I told her, " I am in NO rush to kill myself over a couple of dollars for a sale, if there is NO room to move then I will wait until there is."

Finally the carts started to break up and the lady infront of me let me go and blocked the MEAN lady in again... I told her thank you so much!!!! She said, "I will let you through but not the lady in back of you and she rolled her eyes at the lady in back... I started to laugh and told her thank you and rushed off!!!!

I just knew after being in Walmart for 30 minutes it was going to be an eventful day!!! We crammed pack the Durango with our deals we found and was surely exhausted when on our way home...hehe

I told my hubby when he got up what happen at Walmart and he told me that he knew something was gonna happen like that because "little princess" here is not very nice when she does not have her beauty sleep. He said that he knew I was going to be a royal "you know what".

All in All it will be a Black Friday to remember!!!! If any of you were brave souls to go out in that mess, I hope you had a better experience then I did...LOL!!!!

I am thanking GOD it is OVER!!!

Have a Wonderful Weekend!!!

Is anyone else starving to death for this Holiday???

Hello Everyone!!!!
Been a long time it seems... I have been so busy in the past couple of weeks... I have been faithfully going to my knitting group when time prevails itself...hehe Poor Plumpknitter has been working on Wedsnesdays that she cannot make it... Hopefully after the Holidays she can start coming back or we can make a different day for our knitting obsession...

Since the boys are off tomorrow, I probably will not be able to make it...boohoo!!!! One of our scholar knitters is teaching those of us that don't know how to cable the tricks to this trade this week... I really do not want to miss it but I don't know what else I could do with the boys...hehe I will figure something out!!!! We have some Newbies to knitting and it is kind of neat to have a few things to teach at the group...hehe

As you can see, even though I haven't been posting I have been knitting my fingers to the bone lately with all my projects on needles... My clapotis is resting in a very cold dark place lately because I did something wrong and don't have the patience to sit down and fix it...

My HP bag is coming right along... I am crocheting the strap to it and I need to block the thing...LOL (I really hate crocheting if I can help it...hurts my hand!!!) It came out really cute... It definitely will be cute for a small knitting project to tote around.

This is a ribbed beanie hat for my son... he wanted a blue hat and the other one wanted red... I plan on doing these hats and then a small ribbed scarf to go with.... They are so excited since they get to pick out their colors...

I will show the finished product when I am done... I will be pretty close to finishing soon!!!!

SOOOO!!!! on the the topic of my Title!!!! ROFL!!! I am making room for the Thanksgiving feast. My stomach has been growling for 2 days... Our family has 3 houses to attend on this lovely holiday!!! Talk about being thankful !!!! Anyway, usually people get offended if you don't each much... Usually I am THANKFUL for the day to come to an END!!!!

What is so funny is we pace ourselves for certain dishes at each house!!!! First of all!!! You should know this before I go on... I know you will think that I am not American when I say this BUT..... I DON'T LIKE TURKEY!!!!! My sis always makes a Ham at our family function every year... (Well there is a damper to the plans of this year...grrrrr) My sister is going out of town so this girl will be eating mainly PIES, Deviled eggs, and all the fixins but very little turkey.. (I do take a couple bites of each turkey not to offend anyone...ROFL!!!!

The next day we will be one of those idiots waking up at 4am to be at the stores by 5am to get our deals for Christmas shopping...hehe

Our family has a tradition of letting each other know what we are thankful for and here is mine this year.

Even though our lives are short on this earth, the people that we love, come into contact with, friends, and relatives become a detrimental part of our lives... Even if it is a short period of time they make up who we are and what we have become or want to become. I am thankful for having those people in my life. I really trully believe that those that touch us the most are those that make the best memories that will never be forgotten. I thank God that he has brought those people into my life ...

Bless you all and have a SAFE HOLIDAY!!!!

Here are some Good ideas:

The Pattern I used for my bag
Wool Sweater Mittens

Been busy BUT NO excuse!!!!

Well these past couple of weeks have been horrendously busy... I haven't even had much time to knit... grrrrr.. I did do my sweater purse and sewed that thing up... I am still working on a couple of flower embellishments... I plan on making 2 more to put on the bag... I am happy with it... It does show that I am not the greatest at sewing the inside liner but oh well.. It was my first one...hehe I have a couple of other sweaters that I have that I will be making up in the next week...

Since Harry Potters movies is coming out next week... I am not going to finish my scarf so my cousin had a good idea about making a purse out of what I have done... So that is what I am working on now...

We are going Christmas shopping tomorrow... I have to get a head start so I don't freak out next month.. If you look up black friday 2005 it will bring up a website that has the ads that will be out the day after Thanksgiving... The last time I looked they had Walgreens, Walmart, Radio Shack and couple of other places up already... It definitely lets you know what to wait on and go when it will be on sale.. (Just a heads up!!!) I think I seen that they will have DVD players for $3.88 (That is right 3 dollars...hehe)

Anyway, I hope everyone is hanging in there... I promise I won't be away for so long...

Have a Wonderful Weekend!!!

Without a Digital Camera!!!!

My life has been in the hands of my hubby.... grrrrr I have pictures to show if I could ever pry his little filthy fingers off my camera...

I finished my Wine Cozy I was working on and painfully have made some progress on my Clapotis...hehe

We went to the "Apple Butter Festival" minus one important person "Plumpknitter"... We missed you Wendy... We ate like we were starved for a month and all of us bought something..hehe It was nice to see my cousins Beth and Kathy... Kathy was yelling at me cuz I haven't updated my blog in awhile so... "here it is"... I will have pictures to post tomorrow...LOL

I went to the store yesterday and picked up ingredients for my Black Bean and corn Salsa... I promised Kathy that I would post it on the blog... Talk about addicting....LOL

Black Bean & Corn Salsa

1 Can Black Beans
1 Can Rotel diced tomatoes w/ green chiles
1 Can Shopeg White Corn (Green Giant)
1/2 Jar minced garlic
1/2 small jar diced jalepeno
1/2 chopped onion
1 small can of chopped olives (if preferred)

Mix them all together and I usually can't wait until the next day to eat it but it does taste better if you refridgerate this over night...

I will be making this tonight... My mom and I went to Barnes and Noble today and I picked up a Christmas Book..

I PROMISE!!! I will have a knitting entry and some pictures up VERY SOON!!!!

Enjoy your day!!! Ü
