Knit Diva

Me and my obsession has come a long way since last couple of years... I definitely still consider myself a beginner and always looking to improve my obsession. I think it is my "CALGON"... It takes me away from my busy life with a wonderful husband and 8yo twin boys... YIKES!!! I never understood how addicting yarn could be until I started knitting.. I have crochet for some time on and off but I never felt attached to it as I do with knitting...

It is going to be Beautiful out today!!!!

It is going to be over 60 degrees today!!!! YEAH!!! I was sooooo bored yesterday but atleast I got to knit for a little bit...hehe.. The highlight of the day was going to Pilates...hehe I LOVE IT!!!! I can burn almost 300 calories in one hour.. That is so cool... AND, believe it or not it really isn't that hard... I love how I feel when I am done...

If you go to Burn Calories Counter on IVillage it can tell all sorts of activities on how much you burn calories. KNITTING is on there also... In one hour of knitting I can burn 105 calories... NOW is that productive or WHAT!!!!!! I like that a lot... So ladies and gentlemen, our hobby and obsession does a BODY GOOD!!!!!!

Anyway, I have been kind of bored with my projects lately and I am needing some colors to brighten up the mood to knit... I have been working on my irish hiking scarf and my sweater vest and a sock... I am looking for something else that is full of sunshine... Something that is quick and won't take too much thought....LOL!!!!

I hope all is going well and I hope you have a wonderful day!!! This weekend it is suppose to be COLD so I am going to take FULL advantage of this beautiful day..

Bless be yours ,

Panta is Finished!!!!

Well I finished my panta a couple of days ago and it came out so adorable.. I am looking in my stash to make another one. I will probably do a black or a dark blue so it will match jeans...hehe If you haven't done of these, try it I know you will enjoy this FAST knit...

I am working on my next anklet sock since the other pair were WAY TOO small for my foot... If the one fits my mom I will make the 2nd pair. If not, it will be a loner in my knitting project stash...LOL

I have been throwing around the idea of starting some NEW projects...ROFL!!! This is the story of my LIFE... Always looking to fill that void of unfinished projects with MORE to knit....LOL

I have always wanted to make an afghan or throw for my living room. I have this really cute scarf I would like to conquer. Some cute sock patterns that I would like try out with the magic loop. And, some wash clothes to play around with...hehe Is that enough to handle or what...LOL!!!!

Have a wonderful Evening!!! Ü

Why do we resort to our Childhood?

Is it because we are trying to hold on to memories? Or, not a care in the world and no responsibilities. Or, have we NEVER grew up and we are still kids... Is it because mortality is a scary thing to think about? Why I ask these things is everyday I go into a store or watch remakes of movies I resort back to my younger years. The toys I played with are coming back. Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Cabbage Patch Kids, and so many more.. I look at this stuff wishing I could get away with buying it and making an excuse that it is for my neices...ROFL!!!! Sometimes I wish I would have tried for another baby to have girl so I could play with all this stuff...ROFL!!!! But, then my boys are sooo much fun to play with...ROFL!!! I love the hot wheels, action figures and the role play imaginative creations that they come up with. I think that is why my sister had the girls...hehe I think my little girl would have been MISS PRISS!!!! Something like her mommy at times... Lil' Diva!!! I would have made a monster...

So anyway, My sister and I and 5 KIDS went to St Louis Mills Mall which is totally kid orienated... With Ice skating rink, bowling alley, play areas, glow in the dark putt putt, Candy shops, Nascar heaven with go carts, train rides, RIDES, and GAMES galore... We had a blast and was totally exhausted after 3 hrs there... We were walking a mile out of the mall to go get something to eat and found a store FULL of "HELLO KITTY" and friends... Well, the boys were totally against going in by I forced them to go in while my neices, my sister, and myself had a BLAST... Hello Kitty resorted back to my childhood and I would had passed out as a kid if they had a store like this...hehe

I found this REALLY CUTE back that was perfect for knitting...hehe My sister bought it for me for my belated birthday present and for $5 I bought a knitted Hello Kitty....ROFL.. I put all my needles and all my goodies in the bag... So I got a little peice of my childhood back in a half in hour of fun... She is so sweet..

Today, it is snowing!!!! Not as much as those that are on the East Coast!!! Stay safe and WARM!!!! This is what it looked like about 2 hours ago from my back yard...LOL The boys are going nuts to go outside and sled ride... We have enough to go now... It looks so pretty today... I am so glad I have nowhere to be today... I have bunches and bunches of laundry to tackle today..

ON KNITTING NEWS: I finished knitting my back and bought material but I have to buy handles for it... I will show it when I sew it up. I started on the pattern PANTA ... It is a really cute headband... I am going to do this KAL.... This headband will match my wristwarmers.... YEAH!!!! The pattern kind of confused me but I figured it out!!!!

It is sooooo cute!!!!!! Check it out!!!!

Have a Safe and Warm Day!!!!

PICTURE FRENZY!!!!

Well, this is the next cabled purse I am making with the Yarn Bee yarn... I am loving these colors... It will be hard to let this one go... Don'tcha think this would look good with "jeans".... I have probably 2 more repeats before I travel to the fabric store to pick out handles and material for the liner...

Now this is my FIRST finished sock!!!!! WooHoo!!! The only problem is it is WAY TOO small... I am hoping it will fit my mom. She has really SMALL feet... Unlike my 8 1/2...hehe

Anyway, I love the colorway of this yarn... I probably could get another set of anklets out of it for ME!!!! We will see... I plan on going tomorrow to the LYS to get me some size 3 Addi's!!!! I am thinking if I go up another size it will help out my little tightness problem....LOL!!!!

These are my son's dude warmers...hehe He is at school today or I would have had him model them for me... I tried putting them on and that was not pretty... ROFL!!!!

I probably have a couple more pictures to show you but my camera's battery is LOW... I will show you the yarn I bought the other day that will turn into another cable purse... That pattern is so easy and FAST!!!! I have added 2 repeats to the pattern so it will come out big enough...

I hope you all stay WARM today... It is quite chilly out!!!!

COMPUTER Delivery!!!!

My computer should be here today!!! I am so excited.. I can't wait to download my pictures... In all this mess for the past couple of weeks, I can't found my disc of ALL my pictures... I know they are around here somewhere but I can't find them...LOL

I started on a NEW cabled purse and I will be casting on my 2nd sock very soon!!! I have learned that I am a VERY TIGHT knitter when it comes to SOCKS!!!! I am LOOSE any other time besides with socks.. My socks that I made should have fit me but they are so small they will go to my mom!!!

I am probably going to have to go out and buy 3's to work with...LOL!!! Usually on projects I have to go down in size...

The cabled purse is just like my pink one but it is done in green's and blue's... Yarn Bee was on sale 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby so I picked up 4 skeins of Mosaic (something)

It is a SNOW day here and so I cannot go to my knitting group today... BOOHOO!!!!

I hope everyone stays warm!!!! I will be officially up and running by Friday with pictures. That is if UPS gets here today...hehe

Computer Problems!!!!

WELL, my computer has been a turd for 2 weeks now.....grrrrr My hubby decided to wipe the system and start over and come to find out, our Windows XP disk would not work when we rebooted the system... WELL, now we are on Windows 2000 (OH MY GOODNESS, talk about a Dinosaur!!!!!)

The computer is going on 5 years and so it was time to upgrade to something NEW and improved!!!! We just bought the mac-daddy of Dell and I can't wait for it to come in this week...hehe

I am sorry I haven't been around... My computer is my life and when I can't posts pictures and every 2-3 minutes I have errors coming up, it is a pain so my baby is being neglected...hehe I have been so upset not having my computer... The only thing I am grateful for is we burned all our photos and files on a CD... (thank goodness!!!)

Well, back to knitting... When my NEW computer comes in I will have a PHOTO FRENZY!!!! I did finish the other wristwarmer. I have ONE sock done that was done on the magic loop... I bought some beautiful yarn from Hobby Lobby the other day to do some more purses. I am still working on my Irish hiking scarf. I finished ONE "DUDE-warmer" for my son yesterday and I am on my second one...hehe

----Funnny story----- One of my sons wanted me to make some wristwarmers. He said he didn't want anything girly... So when I was at Hobby Lobby the other day they had a sale on SUPER SAVER for 1.99... I picked up a skein of Camouflage... SO CUTE... Well he asked me what they are called... I told him that they are wristwarmers.. He said that sounded a little girly... So I said how bout DUDE-warmer's... HE said YEAH, that sounds much BETTER!!!

They will be perfect for riding our ATV's... I will definitely take a picture of them... NOW my other son wants a pair after seeing what they are... My neice seen them yesterday and wants a pair also in the the camouflage...hehe (These fit perfect for 6-9 year olds...)

The pattern I came up with is this...

DUDE or DUDETTE WARMERS

Worsted Weight yarn
Size 8 circ ( I used the magic Loop method but use what you prefer)

Cast On 24

K2,P2 in ribbing for 3 1/2 -4 inches (Girls would rather have them a little bit longer)

When you come to the desirable length, Start knitting in the "FLAT" (Back and forth)

Sl 1, and knit the knits and purl the purls (6 rows)

Proceed to K2, P2 in the round making sure your first stitch is knitted tightly to eliminate the bridge for another 1 1/2- 2 inches (or as desirable)

BO and weave in ends...

How easy is that!!!!!

I also bought a book at Barnes and Noble the other day called Chic knits that has some really cute slip on slippers that I cannot wait to try out..

Please bare with me until this week.. Wednesday I should have my NEW computer and NO later than Friday.... Yeah!!!! I will have bunches of pictures to download... So, be on the LOOK OUT!!!!

Have a WONDERFUL MONDAY!!!!
